  • i really don't think that is anything to worry about at this stage, considering it is one unconfirmed report, and that kryptonite are probably worried silly that their locks will fuck up again.

  • fah mini is stronger, smaller, thicker, heavier.

basically everything that Daft Punk was.

    Massive anti-human deterrent >>>

  • I think they are the same strength, since both are 18mm.

    No.

even if they're the same strength, the smaller one is stronger due to being smaller, basic GCSE physic.

also I mistook the M18 for the New York M3000.

  • xena is here! have yet to set it off but was quite perturbed by the arming beeps.

  • velolibre: Excellent! Which model did you get? Where and how much? Thanks. Let us know how well the alarm works.

  • this

    looks like a stapler,
    where ya gonna put it?

  • xena xzz6, off ebay, £33 inc postage, haven't set off the alarm yet as don't know how loud 110db is, putting it around the chainring.

  • it sounds like this, pretty loud.

YouTube- Xena Motorcycle Disc Lock Alarm

  • do those go off when you unlock? or in your bag while riding?

  • do those go off when you unlock? or in your bag while riding?

    lol, are you serious ?

  • yes. are you?

seems like they'd go off accidentally, no?

  • unlocks = deactivated

any other way and the product would be defunct and useless.

Sry if i missed anything but that seemed really obvious .

  • other than that, a report on how much movement needs to activate it would be good, as bikes are often locked up together and if someone else on my bike rack is unlocking it would be a little unfair for them to have to listen to that the whole time.

  • I think taking off my d lock first before disengaging the alarm would be enough motion to set it off. I know I'd forget all the time to disengage first.

frankly i wouldn't give a fuck as long as MY bike didn't get nicked.

  • well...

  • ok. thanks for your input.

  • you get about 5 seconds to unlock the zena before the alarm goes off. it sounds off warning bleeps during this 5 secs. normally not a prob, just have to unlock it fast.

  • well...

and besides that, the alarm would probably protect the other bikes around it also, so u could call it a trade off.

  • they can go off in your bag, it's happened once to me. if it's on 'lock' mode, and something comes across the sensor, it arms itself. any further movement and it goes off for 10 secs or until you remove what's blocking the sensor. if you don't want this to happen, keep it off lock mode in your bag.

I think it's less than that, like 4 seconds before the alarm goes off.

best to lock the alarm in view that can be easily reach by you within a second.

  • oh, yeah you may be right, you definitely don't get very long. i think it's best to lock it where it isn't touching other bikes and it's likely to get grazed by a pedestrian, like close against a railing. i think it's a great little deterrant.

  • yes, perfect for going out to dinner or a pub really, you might not hear it indoor that well, but least it give you a little peace of mind.

  • Re-cycled, I've amended the info on the Abus 1050. Thanks for that.

ClaireVv, thanks for taking the time to answer my question. However, is it possibly to get a maximum Db rating for your supplier,
so that I may publish it alongside your product? Thank you also for the discount!

    Hi,

I've checked with our product team and they tell me the max dB for the alarm is 110 dB.

We're going to sort you out a deal for shipping, I'll post it on through later. In the meantime, don't forget about the 20% off promo code - VVN392R.

Any other questions feel free to email me or post them on up here.

    Thanks again!
