Be sure to add, "and he had the temerity to call me a drunk!"
Snotter's may as well be honest about it. We know the truth after all...

An important finger I presume?

While on the topic of fingers, my ring finger on my right hand is currently sporting this rather fetching splint, due to the fact I broke it on the Dalby Forest World Cup course on Sunday. Classic over-the-handlebars crash. Bugger.

It was my favourite!
Just out of surgery, where they had to remove the whole nail and stitch the end of the finger back on. Apparently it'll take 4 months for the nail to grow back :-(

I had the same treatment when I almost chopped the end of my finger off by sticking it between my chainring and chain.

Think of the bright side. One less nail to keep groomed.

A painful way to achieve marginal (weight) loss.
Contact team sky, there are entire fingers that are surplus weight.

Nice caption...

They could've washed your hand for you

That's a big arrow the surgeon drew pointing to the finger that needed attention.
Didn't exactly inspire confidence.

Nice.
A month of flucloxacillin?
I had that when I chopped off the end of my little finger and a skin graft from the side of my hand.

It's spooky that the injured finger is the one you drew an arrow on. What are the odds? Well, ten to one.
-

Well, ten to one.
9/1 (if you include thumbs). 7/1 if you're just talking about fingers.

Ah, you've met me then.

A month of flucloxacillin?
Luckily not, just a weeks worth of penicillin. A month sounds properly hard core.

Dude, only just seen this! That's nasty... hope you heal up soon.
How are you spreading marmalade onto crumpets and making flat whites without that key digit?
Seriously though, how is it effecting everything... Are you able to work? And more importantly, to ride?
-

Cheers fella. Editing is unaffected unfortunately, so no time off work. I think riding will be ok, though I'm taking a few days off anyway. The turbo may be making an early entrance this year.

Oh shit moment a while ago... bombing down a hill with out brakes. I hear a tapping noise then strong tugging on my right foot... shoe lace had got tangled in the chain ring/bb area and got so short so fast it kind of forced me to unclip. Didnt help. Just made my foot go into to spinning crank and chucked me off the bike.
I wasn't really hurt but it was horrible because it all happened in what felt like slomo and I definitely new what was going to happen. oh shit -

Tore my 2 week old Converse nearly in half doing that, I was going up over a bridge and think if I was spinning down the other side when it happened it would have tore my foot in half

Back in the days before LFGSS (yes!) non-courier fixed gear riders used toi hang out in the "special interests" section of the BikeRadar (now cyclingplus) forums.
In there, the equivalent to our "don't lean" wisdom was "tuck in your laces".
For this reason.

While we are on the advice, do check your cleat bolts on a fixed...esp. when you buy shoes of evilbay ;)
Q much hilarity when I arrived at the LBS with one shoe clipped in and an unshoed left sock and a soaking wet foot. They fixed it for nothing. Stars (CRC in Belfast)

Crank bolts coming loose are interesting. Can never forget the look on the mechanics face when I cycled into Cycle Surgery at King X with one crank separate from the bike and dangling from my cleats. Didn't want to put my foot down as to not scratch the crank.
He he. Be sure to add, "and he had the temerity to call me a drunk!" to your report to Stagecoach (if it was their bus).
