  • standard issue that came with the condor pista about 6 years ago.. miche something I think
Ah yes the condor branded Miche primatos probably,
If speaks to them about it!

  • And I was just telling JWestland what the problem with Miche was.

  • which is... those lasted me a long time, and have done at least 15k

    Que?

  • ^ Fractured carbon releases a vapour which impairs brain function. It does require significant exposure for the effects to become obvious, though...

  • I chipped a front tooth falling off my brompton hammered.. cost about £80 for the fix, wasn't a huge chip though. I was more gutted about losing 1 dromarti glove

I lost half the tooth, which came through the front lip resulting in a lovely battle scar.

And a "cool story bro" to gross out the colleagues.

Pretty much this, no idea what I was saying.

  • My biggest Oh shit moment happened almost a year ago now, but only just thought to put it up.
Don't normally ride brakeless and whilst have ridden fixed quite a bit have never rode without a brake for more than about an hour. My brother built up his old polo bike into a fixie skidder, with no brakes and I thought fuck it. Might as well learn sometime. Only problem was it hadn't ever been ridden much and, unbeknownst to either of us, the cog wasn't seated properly. Anyhow I decide to ride down into town, which is down one very steep and very congested hill (this is bristol, there are a lot of hills). I start riding down and I'm behind a van, which slows down as a bus comes up the other way as it's only just wide enough for them to pass. I skid to slow down too, but thats when the thread strips. My feet are stationary but the wheels keep turning. I'm heading straight into the back of the truck (and that was the real "OH SHIT!" moment). I swerve out onto the other side of the road and see a gap between the truck and the bus of about 2ft and have no choice but to go for it. I have to duck my head under the wing mirror but make it through. I then have a bit of clear road and have enough time to take my foot out and foot jam. But even then I'm slowing down very slowly so I shout to a guy crossing the road and tell him to grab me. He brings me to a stop and I get off pretty shaken up but in no way harmed. Pretty lucky really and needless to say I won't be riding brakeless for a while.

I was going to call you an idiot for riding brakeless down a big hill, but then you charmed me by yelling at a man to grab you. I love that he actually did.

    You are an idiot, though.

  • I agree

  • i had bought a new hoodie for my gf as a gift (she is always using mine) and had it tied around my waist. It slipped off and got caught in my chain and my chain snapped. I stopped OK. However i didnt realise the hoody was the reason for the snap and after wheeling my bike 2 miles to my gfs house I only just noticed I no longer had the hoodie.

If anyone sees a nice grey hoody next to stockwell tube covered in bike grease then its mine.

:( still its the thought that counts

    (Hi stef)

  • Writing it here won't make her any more likely to buy it!

  • dibs

  • like you'd ever ride as far south as stockwell mands.

  • pshhh... you're right...undibs

  • i`m pretty gutted tbh.

  • if I was on the bike today i'd have kept an eye out but I'll be going past on the tube. and you can't see the road too well from down there.

  • I would be too. Id be surprised if its still there. I hope whoever picks it up enjoys it.

  • I'll probably be heading past there later, can have a quick look.

  • re-dibs!

  • Its grey and would be right on the corner of stockwell road, outside what is a ladbrooks on google streetview

  • Cool just added that to my route.

  • I went past at 6:20 and there was no grey hoody there :'(

  • oh shit moment when riding behind a dialAride van with the rear glass window today close enough to see myself in the reflection and looking at how awesome a photo in the mirror image the glass gives off would be before I notice the brake lights start to come on and almost run into the bus

  • Thanks bothwell. Bum
