Last night I found out what I involuntarily scream when someone nearly drives in to me on a roundabout: “Jesus Christ!”
The driver pulled over just after the roundabout to apologise profusely: she didn’t see me, she didn’t look, she’s normally a really careful driver, she’s so sorry. I stood by the side of the road shaking and told her not to do it again, and then she burst into tears. Why are you crying?! You nearly killed ME!!

A classic case of Emmawayitis.

No it's not - she stopped and apologised for what she'd done.

^^ Emmawayitis is when the offender uncontrollably and inexplicably bursts into tears after an incident.

I hate this when you end up comforting the person who almost killed you. I ended up telling someone to get fucked last time this happened.

I think it's because they haven't got the same surge of adrenaline that you just did. You, hopped up on adrenaline and rage, understandably raise your voice a bit and get a little confrontational, whereas the person who almost killed you isn't hopped up on anything, but they have just made a mistake and now to make matters worse somebody is shouting at them for it. Some of them get defensive and confrontational in return, some of them burst into tears.

They entered shock when they suddenly needed to slam the brakes on, wrenching them from their reverie.
Hope they get PTSD.

I didn't even shout at this one! Rare for me.

She will have learned though. Won't be doing it again in a hurry.

Adrenaline and rage, my favourite combination. You feel so alive, then you feel exactly like a quivering leaf.

Well, let's hope not! Someone I know once accidentally doored someone (and it was a bit of a freak accident) and now will barely open car doors and does a weird slither out of any vehicle to avoid opening the door more than about 10cm.

More importantly, did that man reach his urgent appointment in time?

Christ! What was that bellend ped thinking?

Same as every other chicken. Cross the road quick without attention.
And I got caught out as I was filtering.
Has this been resolved yet?
