Errol is cool! And a possible suitor for Lola, as he is handsome!

A month now since Mr Riley went the way of the blue juice.....he is the third dog I've lost as an adult, but I am still struggling to face the fact that the stinky bugger isn't sitting on my feet....I miss him......

It sucks.
We lost Milly, our 14 year old brindled Greyhound a fortnight ago. She was getting very slow and shaky over the past few months so it wasn't a surprise, but it doesn't make it any easier.

I lost my cat Popeye to an RTA on the first anniversary of the death of a good friend, so you can imagine I wasn’t in a great state of mind. I had to carry him home and bury him in the garden in the rain, and I was in bits.
It took me 5 years to get myself another cat because I took it so badly, but I’m glad I did. Of course it’ll come to it again some time, but it’s all part of having a pet. It still hurts tho.

Hopefully this lovely hound will be coming home with us next weekend.
It's been odd only having one dog and Dylan is a bit lonely now Milly has gone.
Fingers crossed.

What are those stitches on her belly from?
-
• #6734
From spaying I imagine.

They are from her spay. She is 3 years old and 10 days off the track. She had the op on Friday and the stitches should come out in 10 days.
She wandered into the living room and tried to climb into the (off) TV as if it was a giant hole... Pretty much everything is new to her but she is very chilled and calm.

Ah, thanks. I didn't know what spaying involves.
Do you mean she was racing until ten days ago?
-
• #6737
Yup.

gained a rabbit when I moved in with my partner, thinking of getting a second as they're sociable animals..

Looks like you need to trim those whiskers.

That's a nice Rex. It's always good to have a pair of bunnies if you can get them to bond and if you have enough room. There is plenty of good advice available on how to bond rabbits, for example https://rabbitwelfare.co.uk/rabbit-care-advice/bonding-rabbits/

What a beautiful dog. Pure Greyhound? Looks a bit whippety...
-
• #6742
Yup, she's all greyhound. Medium-small sized for a bitch.
She is doing really well and is very gentle with our kids.
Has found the sofa too now.

This is Mino, our Russian Dwarf Hamster. He's a really sweet placid thing and I'm really quite fond of him. 1 1/2 yo.

He's going to turn 17 next week. Assuming he was no more than a year old when I adopted him
You might struggle to find a company that will insure an old dog regardless of its actual health. We ran out of options and had to stay with our current insurers for both cat and older dog but it's worth looking around as you might be lucky.
