  • My two lovely Labrador-cross babies (both died a number of years ago) - Lady and Nelson. We went to the kennels to get a guard dog and the lady there showed us the puppies and I was sold! Never show an 11 year old a shed full of puppies and expect them to come away empty-handed.

Sweet! Labs are fantastic. Never show a 31 year old a shed full of puppies/kittens either ;)

  • Plug in pussy.

(No idea where that came from, sorry.)

  • Ridiculous Moses, fast asleep in my drawer - he now cries if he can't get in.

  • ^ like. He's like "rarrr-in-my-dreams-teeth".

  • Ive been given the task of looking after my neighbours cat. I know pretty much nothing about cats. Can it have turkey? I'll feel bad if while we are all gathered around the table eating a great feast, 'Binky' will be stuck with dry food. Also, what about gravy? Is cat food gravy much different from oxo gravy? Finally, what meat can and cant a cat eat? Is gammon ok? Any help will be great, thanks

  • Turkey's fine, as long as there's no bones. Gravy is also ok.

All things in moderation of course ;-)

  • It's salt you should try to avoid giving them, and no cooked bones, but otherwise it should be fine.

  • Avoid chocolate! Especially the dark high cocoa stuff.

& believe it or not, Christmas trees are also poisonous mildly toxic to them too.

^ They are unaware of both of these things

  • Oh awesome, thanks pal, looks like everyone will be able to enjoy mums cooking! I already don't want to give her back, such a friendly cute cat, ill try and get pictures a bit later

  • No worries. You may end up handing back a very fat cat though.

  • Christmas tree's?! Blimey, looks like ill be outside keeping her company then! How far away would it be to be poisonous? Would they have to brush against it? Because its right in the middle of the dining/living room.

  • Sorry to panic you. Nothing too serious. Chewing the branches might cause frothing or vomiting & the needles wouldn't digest, so might be uncomfortable or even get stuck inside.

Simply coming into contact with the tree is not a problem.

    ^^^^ Post edited.

  • Oh few, thats lucky, life would have been made far more complicated haha. Thanks for all your help guys, much appreciated. This cat is definitely going to be spoilt, hope you all have a wonderful christmas!

  • Giving grumpy cat a run for his money...

  • Need to find out what they weigh in order to get the dose of anti-flee stuff correct.

    Higgs 4.83 kg
    James 4.62 kg
    Tesla 3.31 kg

i'm sure you could get higgs down to a sub 4 kg cat with some simple upgrades

  • I found out that you shouldn't give a cat Dreamies.. was a treat for Christmas Shadow went nuts for them and then got nasty when there was no more.. Instant cat crack addict.

    You have been warned

  • I got given a sample pack of those, holly (dog) goes nuts for them.

  • I have to keep these pouches in a sealed bag, locked in a drawer, or Maia and Moses make short shrift of them.

I said, when I adopted them, I wouldn't buy any unhealthy food, treats included. "No bribery will be necessary", I said.

    I'm so weak.

  • Blimey, Jambi and Tazi won't touch most cat treats, I think I've tried dreamieson the, as well. They only like the freeze dried chunks (Thrive).

  • Not me dressing her up. Honest!

  • The Wolf likes dreamies, he got some in his stocking this year. He's very civilised though and will sit on the edge of the sofa patiently and wont bite my hand off, he actually loves Tesco cat sticks more, he'll do anything for them, including jumping into a large empty washing basket - much to MOC's delight.

  • ^ Do you have a video of said jumping? :)

Mine are actually very sweet and good about not biting my fingers off.

Those evil treat hiding pouches, however, must be KILLED IN THE FACE.

  • My brother and sister-in-law have got themselves a short haired retriever, 11 weeks old. Love at first sight.

    Toby.
