was that rider who went down today ok? I was right in front of him when he went down, never been involved in a fall before, wasn't a nice sound...

yeah... if it was during the whistle training, that was me.
was coming down the banking out of the saddle for the start of a sprint, and my rear wheel just lost traction and threw me over the bars..... i guess i just had too much of my weight over the front.
was my first crash on the track, so was nice to finally get that out of the way.
Me & the bike are fine... just a big hole in my new bibs, and a big dent on my helmet.was relieved no one else hit me, as i was on the floor in the middle of a sprint, luckily the group was spread out, and everyone knew what they were doing, especially Stelle, who was right behind me!..... i have a feeling i could have been alot worse off if the novices were involved.
apart from that, was a cracking session as always!

Hi all, I too have been meaning to start riding saturday sessions but haven't found the time yet. Novice question: how can i get my bike approved for the track?
-
• #686
What about your bike do you think is not track legal?

Its track legal, its a felt tk3, but do i have to run it by anyone that i'm using my own bike or do i just take it on and ride?

What's stopping you??? I'm getting tempted to strap a cleat onto my cast and give it a crack. :-)

Bike will be fine. You have to remove any brakes, bars must be wrapped with end plugs and must have foot retention. You also have to wear a helmet.
As a matter of courtesy, clean your tyres, so you don't bring all the road crap onto the track.

The track has enough crap of its own at the moment.

Can't afford a cog for my preferred GI. Soon as I'm sorted I'll be down :)

Max, they don't do 5-tooth cogs. It's just that no-one's had the courage to tell you yet.
-
• #693
Max, what do you need? I made a pretty posy of cogs yesterday when doing a mini clear out.
-
• #694
Hi Snowy, I need a 15t 1/8th.
-
• #695
What chainring you running? 47 / 48?
I shall also check the parts bin for loaner/freebies. I know I have a spare 14t not sure about a 15t though.
-
• #696
Nope, I've a 16, (well several 16s it seems), but I seem to have put the 15 on Gwyn's new bike. Or a knackered old 14.
-
• #697
49t ring.
Cheers guys.
-
• #698
49x15 is a bit big to start on.
(although 49x16 is a bit small)
no access to a 47 or 48?
Or a 44 to run with a 14?
-
• #699
I don't think 49x16 is too small to start on at this time of year. Good conditioning for a few weeks.

What hub Max? I've probably got a spare 15T knocking around that you can have.
I'm down the street from HH, currently no rain but ground is wet... Rain forecast for the rest of the day... You'll be very lucky IMO...
