I enjoyed it this morning although my lack of fitness was all too apparent. I will improve.

You should have hung on, the second half was much better. Or at least the first half of the second half was

Enjoyed it today and despite the ongoing lack of fitness, it was good to roll around, love the track..

Finally got around to doing my induction yesterday after not so much as turning a pedal on any bike for six months, thanks to punishing work schedule. Such a good day. Going to get that card fully stamped up before the Summer's out and this afternoon I'm cleaning the cobwebs off that track frame. Enthused.

Oh jeez, I don't have one of these cards...

Was given this, thought people might like to see:
NCU Championships at Herne Hill, June 1894.

could you send me a high res of that? :)

I am finally heading for the induction this Saturday, looking forward to it!

That was fun. Nice to be back after 9 months or so, was good to see another couple of Omnioms on the track :)
As seems to be the standard response, big props for the coaches coping with a massive range of abilities, and making sure everyone got a good run-out in the second half. -

Thanks coaches and various people that helped with little problems on my bike. Looking forward to coming back.

Shame about the crash, not sure what happened and hope all people involved are ok.
Great session, as usual. -

One of the kids in the crash was chatting to another kid in front of the queue to borrow bikes... He said he was injured in the same way he had been the month before... Was funny watching the whole line earwigging.
Anyway, really enjoyed the beginners session, despite being late and constantly (well twice) dropping off the back of my group... Got a stamp, but think I'll hang around beginners for a bit longer than just three sessions! :-/

I woke up too late to make intermediates so jumped in on another basic, finally got the card, guy at the desk fully stamped it as he'd seen me around before, thanks for that man.
See ya'll on monday.

i ended up in a group of just 4 for a large part of the session which was really good fun as we got to go off the front every 2 laps but bloody knackering by the end of the session as we were doing a pretty decent pace
i fucked up a little and got caught quite high up the banking when we were doing the paired riding because a trainer came along the outside and then dropped down just in front of me and slowed down and i wasn't sure if i was meant to pass on the inside to keep pace with the group or pull in behind and keep their pace instead and the person behind assumed i was going up the banking to rest and grumbled for me to shit or get off the pot (not in those words) but i know what to do next time.
really had a great time though. looking forward to saturday already

I had to work on Saturday.
I will be there next Saturday.

Yeah, I'm bloody getting into this track lark now. Just got some road shoes and pedals for this weekend, but which cleat do people recommend between Shimano SH10 (0 float) and SH11 (6ยบ float)? Is it more of a personal preference?
-
• #2893
They're now doing a blue cleat with medium float.
-
• #2894
I wouldn't go for the red ones unless you've got your cleat position absolutely nailed.
I still use the 6deg ones but I'm thinking of switching to the blues.

Blue matches my new shoes...

Anyone heading to inters tomorrow?

• #2897
Most likely me.
-
• #2898
I will be doing my 1st beginners session, will possibly be the slowest person on track mainly because stitches and broken teeth ain't aero :P

Make sure you check over your shoulder as I fly by then. ;)

Hips rocking ;)
Down for my first basic training. Didn't know there was a jumble so will be there early to scour for that elusive axle...
