My rugby season is almost over, so looking to try this out for the first time - any tips for roadies giving it a go? What do you need to take with you, other than a helmet?

-
• #2032

-
• #2033
It's going to be very busy today, so I would suggest you get there well in advance if you need to do an induction.

I am aiming to arrive before 11 that will be early enough right?
-

^ People were turned away a fortnight ago but I'm sure you'll be fine if you arrive before 11.

Yeah I guessed with the heat and last weeks rain it would be a busy one. I am very excited to finally use my bike for its intended purpose
Actually it's a 14 bike co. so really I should build it up as a HHSB and push it up and down brick lane.

If you've got your own bike you'll definitely be fine before 11; someone better informed than me will be able to tell you what the track limit is but I believe people were being turned away last time because all the hire bikes had been taken.

Well that was fun. Induction followed by basic training. Nice to see 6pt and meet the infamous double spoked Hoke too.

Amazing day. I can't believe it's taken me this long to give it a go.
Big thanks to the coaches if they read this. Seemed slightly chaotic at times but they made it work.

Good to meet the famous C.B was nice to a name to a face, absolutely shattered though especially with the intense whole day riding in london and riding again at HH in the evening with 6pt

Oh I did see you I will say hi next time. Was your GF with you? did you stay for basic training?
-
• #2044
Not GF but I was there with a female friend. Yeah I did the induction and the basic training, and will almost definately be down for the next two weeks to get the other basic training stamps.
I look forward to the awkward "internet friends" conversation. What colour's your 14 bike co?

Were you lurking around by the containers before it started and talking to the older chap with the beige Roberts about seatposts?

Just in case anyone left a pair of MTB type 3/4 trousers behind at the track on Saturday, good news is they've been found.
Bad news is the resident vandals/trespassers set fire to them overnight! -
• #2048

Can you ask them to set fire to Corny's hi viz gillet next time please. -

Ha! yes I was he asked me if I knew of any white seatpost manufactureres and I politely told him it would look shit and he should get a chrome one instead for some reason the first one I said was a nitto jaguar not really sure why now.
I suspect racing will be an 'effort'
