the question is if the coaches will turn up at all today and any of the sessions will be on.
Have you ever been when there were no coaches there??
-
• #1629
I think some of them live in the containers and forage for food in the scrublands behind the track. Many have been there for generations.

track or polo..... that is the questions
Is polo still being played? I thought it was last year's fad.

Last Saturday for 6 weeks. Sad face. Bring on the all season surface. -

What's that? is it essentially closed while they resurface now?
-
• #1633
Yes. The clue is in the procedural name, they are resurfacing the track.
-
• #1634
I didn't know when they were starting exactly just wanted it cleared up.

Why can't we ride on the old surface while they're putting on the new one. What's your fucking problem, andyp?
-
• #1636
wait ... srsly ... The all season surface... means the tarck will be open on dry days all year?

You can fucking ride on it, but all the other fuckers can fuck off until it's done.

To clarify...the track will close sometime this week, thought tonight's session will probably still be on. Check www.hernehillvelodrome.com before heading down.
The new surface should be usable throughout the winter...we'll find out in a few months

Even in the snow? Hard core.

I thought that usually the hard core went under the surface but, being from South London, you may know more than me about such things.

It's tarmac. So it can be ridden after rain (much sooner than the current surface) and in the winter when there's no ice on it.
We will be organising a winter program which will likely be reduced time sessions (daylight & temperature being the factors)

HH is a multi-disciplinary venue.

Don't start that shit, you're as bad as the know-nothings who want to spend £5mil on a glass restaurant ;)
It's a fucking VELODROME for velodroming on! Track first and foremost, in as much as it's the mainstay of revenue and always will be.
You'll still get your 3 or 4 faddy cyclocross races in the snow for the 20 or so weirdos that turn out.

I thought you might bite. :-)

This is great!

Was a winky bite though.
The only thing I will say is that we need a "leave as you find" policy so if CX organisers use the venue then they are responsible for cleaning the mud off the track so it can be used the next day.
Hillingdon had problems with that scenario with CX one day pulling mud onto the circuit for the winter league road racing the next day

That's a fair policy. All those ponces who turn up at races with jet washers can help.

Are they nihilists of some sort?

the porous tarmacadam is indeed very porous and grippy, dries in about 45 mins or less.
whens the HH regulars booking Bournemouth for a private session? £30 an hour between all of you. come and try that sticky black.
cunt!
