it says it on the tin.
I'm assuming it's a BRM (although it could be a Brabham)

I'm no expert, but I'm guessing it's a BRM...

Indirectly I made someone crash into their own pillared driveway in Islington a couple of nights ago, on one of those streets of stupidly big houses. They were weaving all across the road, indicating one way, turning the other. I overtook, turned and gave then a gentle "Oi, drive straight!". The mother and daughter looked terrified and shrunk back into their mink coats. I carried on. 10 seconds later - CRUNCH - turn, and they've gone and driven straight into their own pillar at the front of their house.

A driver pulls out in front of a cyclist, the cyclist decides to run into the car, no damage done to anyone, and you all defend the driver! Crazy!
I fail to see how hitting a car that yopu could have avoided will do anything other than make the driver think poorly about cyclists. No one to my knowledge is disagreeing over whether the driver was right or wrong, it's clear that his actions were dangerous. The debate is over mike choosing to hit the car, knowing that he could have avoided it. I know mike, I like mike but on this issue he and I stand apart, I would never purposefully collide with a car, no matter how slow or how little damage was involved.Typically people who spend a large amount of money on a set of wheels have some affection for said item and think poorly or anyone who may potentially damage it. All this kind of situation does is enforces the stereotypes and rifts between us. (Now all you need to do is work out if this last paragraph is referring to the driver or the cyclist)

About 3 years ago a similar thing happened to my girlfriend at the time, except she was the one driving the sports car, and a cyclist did something similar - cyclist ended up paying her £4500 in damages as witnesses said he could have avoided hitting her.
Pretty pointless hitting something if you don't have too, no matter how funny it might seem, especially if you are employing inverse snobbery as your justification

£4.5k? Jesus... that's almost the cost of a bicycle.

I have to disagree with this. He did not know that I could have avoided him as he did not see me until it was too late! So how could my actions make him think more poorly about cyclists? My actions would have made him think.
Shit I did not see that guy, I really had better pay attention to the road more instead of trying to stop this monster V12 engine from stalling

don't know how I feel eitherway on this.
over the years i've had a fair share of impacts with cars, if i thought any of those drivers hit me because they could have stopped but chose not to...then I would have rightly chinned the cunt...
not saying that the case here...just my 2p

Yeah the guy actually dug himself a hole because he started having a right go at her and me after in the street, which caused a load of people to come over and say hang on a sec it was your fault - he then told them all to fuck off, and so when the police turned up and took statements he didnt have a leg to stand on.
We've all been in a situation were we do something to "teach someone a lesson" - however the usual result is looking like a cunt

What would the outcome have been if it was a flouro nodder, ipod deep in the ears pounding the life out of a 2ton aluminium halfords full-sus beast, no real bike skills and slow reactions (so a majority of riders out there)
Mr Ferrari driver would have been still picking bits of his precious car from near by streets and pavements.
Mike killed the speed to reduce the damage but the shock to reacting like that does make you angry. fuck it. I have ruptured a nut pulling to a halt when a ped stepped out, once under control and safe i straightened up and clipped her, shook her up pretty bad but didn't hurt her. -

^ it was a lambo! Totally different animal...
Sounds like mike rode really slowly just to test whether the driver was actually as stupid / reckless as his instincts told him.
Conclusion: yes.
Lessons learned: Mike has good instincts.

A: he's a selfish cockend
B: see Afuck people who drive gas guzzlers in town.
no excuses.
How do you even know he lives in London?? Not possible he lives somewhere else and drove in for a meeting etc.
Does that mean every farmer out there who needs a Land Rover on the farm and who can't afford another car shouldn't be allowed to drive down to the shops?
People on here are seriously narrow minded... -

Or maybe he'll just think of you as that cunt cyclist who hit his pride and joy. It's only my opinion mike but I think you should have avoided running into him. If it was the other way around and he saw fit to drive into you to teach you a lesson you'd be one pissed cyclist (and rightly so).
I'm all for the occasional verbal abuse directed towards other road users but hitting someone for the sake of it is a pleasure that I find is best kept on the polo court and not on the roads.

I tend to prefer making a point whilst passing these kind of drivers by merely making my presence felt by a hard tap to the bonnet/window. This often puts the frighteners up them, forcing them to pay extra attention in the future.
+1
Although I tried to slap the back window of a Rav4 last night, missed and nearly fell off my bike. WAC (what a clumsypoo). -
