I have a ladies step through BSA which has been re-sprayed duck egg blue at Armourtex in Hackney. The bike is in Brighton, has a new set of square taper cranks and a spiffy basket on the front.
I was going to try and get £200 for it but I'd be happy with £150 for a forum chap.

I have an old puch ladies bike in met green, bit rough but not bad - i would sell it as shabby chic, 3 speed etc, £60

  • Tomo187 - Good God Almighty that BSA one is beautiful, I nearly fell off my chair. Sadly, it is currently out of my price range - I reckon you'd easily get two hundred for it though, so that works in your favour I guess. Very kind offer though, thank you.

Dogtemple - I really like Puch bikes - over the weekend I was actually given a very old Triumph shopper 20 - it was free, and that totally sealed the deal. It's not in bad condition - the gears work, tyres inflate, you know, the basics - so think I'm going to see how I get on riding that around for now.

I'm going to need a bigger bike at some point though, as hoping to commute from Lewes to Brighton. Obviously though, that thought fills me with dread.

  • yeah no worries, those 20 shoppers are fun to ride around on i use them myself. got a nice old giant peloton for sale too if you want something for the commute

  • Still have my budget road wheels for sale. Alex rims, formula hubs. Radial front, 2 cross rear. These came off a new road bike and have seen less than 10 miles. Would suit a road, commuter, or winter trainer build. Shimano cassette.

    Wheels £60
    10 speed 12-30 Tiagra cassette £20

Class shape drop bars, 40cm, 26cm clamp. Only used on the track £10.

Will update this as I go through my road bits box.

  • Might be interested in the budget track wheels, any photos Elvis?

  • I'll take some later Chris. Be good to sell locally and save the London hassle!

  • Here you are Chris. I still have those Time pedals as well!

Rear has never seen a brake. Front has but is not concave. Rusty nuts but smooth bearings. Well worn tyres included.

if there are no creases in the rim you can straighten it out easily enough.

  • FREE: Green Raliegh hybrid. Well used, but a very likeable bike. Needs a bit of love and the back wheel is missing a few spokes so either needs re lacing/replacing.

Anyone want it before I give it to cranks? About a 18/19" frame, shimano blah blah.

p.s. I've lost the key to the lock I have on the back wheel so if anyone has some bolt croppers that would be ace.

Yeah there are no creases. Won't it affect the strength of the rim?

I have no idea how to do it, but I'll take it down to cranks on Saturday.

I guess even if the rim is fucked I could get a new rim and rebuild it with the same hubs/spokes?

  • nah not if there are no creases, its just badly buckled so get it straight again and it will be fine.

you need 2 bits of wood, lie the wheel over it, have the bent bit hung over the edge of the wood, stand one foot firmly on one edge, the other on the bend and push it down/jump. keep doing this till its relatively straight then true it up.

ive done this before, it works pretty well.

if you have the wood i can do it for you if you like. someone chucked my wood out :/

Could I borrow it/bring the bike to you?
