my mate in Hove is looking for single speed bike - anything goes really, just needs to fit her (she is 5'4) so anything 48/49cm will work.

I might need a stem spraying black. Anyone know someone happy to do little bits like that? Locally or anywhere in East Sussex
-
• #1583
John @ chickens does spraying.
There’s a place in saltdean on longridge avenue called bodyworks but I’m only mentioning him as a place to avoid like the plague. Absolutely awful work and a total arsehole.
If you’re up for a wild card there’s a guy that works in subway on london road I think called Aidan who was a very keen amateur sprayer, I think his dad was pro. He did some really nice work for fun and didn’t charge much. Might still be there.

I'm looking forward to using John at Chickens.
It sounds poncy, but got to support the local guys. -
• #1585
Thanks I'll swerve the guy in saltdean and I've not bothered with body shops as I've asked before and it either too small a job or they want £100. An amateur sprayer that does bits would be ideal so I'll pop my head in subway on the off chance. I rate Jon Chickens as a builder and he's a really good guy i forgot he doesn't spraying i know he used to have a mate that did powder coating for him.

He did indeed. And he's just kindly resprayed my old ss frame for me a trad gloss black - figure he'd do the stem in with other bits @Retro_Bastard

Nice one I'll message Jon then. My seatpost to finish a build could be up to 6 weeks so not in a mad rush to get it back just wanted to get it sorted. I know Jon doesn't do much in a hurry anyway.

John’s a dude no poncyness to worry about, every bike mental person around here seems to know him. He does some really nice fine detailed work he’s defo worth checking out if anyone needs frame work doing.

Third, fourth, etc Jon Chickens, he replaced a chainstay for me while ago and he did a great job, I sometimes bump into him on the downs and we always have a good chat, lovely bloke

Anyone on here got a shimano spindle mtb crankset, 165 or 170mm, they’d be willing to sell? Condition not massively important as long as functional, but nice ones also considered (not really posh though, I’m shit at mtb)
-
• #1592
I’ve got a 170mm Hone (HT2) with a notchy BB and a Chinese n/w ring (that required me to file the back of it to make it actually work for 1x).
Cosmetic trash, but functional.
£15 gets you this MTB beater fever dream. -
• #1593
That sounds absolutely perfect, I will DM you

Fairly certain I've got one you can have. I'll have a look when I get home tonight.
Looking for a nice Shimano silver band on front mech 28.6. Early 105 or 600. have a 31.8 that I could swap?
