  • Thanks! I'm working from home so Tuesday/Wednesday works. Where & when?

And what do you want for it?

  • Looking for a beater for a friend large/56 ideally old mtb or hybrid but might be up an old road bike. If anyone has anything or spots something on FB/gumtree let me know. Brighton/East Sussex based as he doesn't drive budget £200

  • Just discovered this thread. In Hastings but in
Lewes often and could detour to Brighton area . Got a Kona munimula I'd happly shift. Owned from new since late 90s. Well worn but pretty cared for. 19' which I've ridden at 6'4 with help of a long syncros post. Pm me if he'd be interested. Have some p2s and slicks I can include for road, instead of mushy rockshox Judys and panaracers. Bad bits- worn rims, ancient headset and front hub but spin ok. Good - race face turbines, newish race face bars, alivio shifters, pads and selle saddle.

  • Just buy me a coffee?

    Will DM you to arrange.

  • Maybe not the right place to post, but is anyone an expert on bromptons in brighton ? ( sounds like a bad album) I need some help

  • And if they know how to get rid of 'the Brompton Squeak' please for the love of god speak up. I've tried greasing the rear triangle-spindle and the suspension block. No dice.

  • normally this is the little white top hat washer / clear cellophane washer interface within the suspension block assembly, and a dab of bearing grease should deal with it (just in case that wasn't the bit of the suspension block you've greased already)

  • Anyone interested in a Park work stand, this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Park-Tool-PCS-9-Mechanic-Repair/dp/B000OZFJTI

Like new just has a minor mark on the paint. Folds up when not needed. Very strong, weighs a fair bit and looks to be powder coated, thick steel tubing.

Can drop off locally if needed £80 was around £140 when new

  • I've definitely tried greasing the block but not sure about the washer. I'll give it a go, thanks!

  • Would anyone like this fixie book. It’s very of it’s time. I think around 2007 ish.

Has quite a lot of nice photos of interesting bikes and a lot of cringy inspirational and aspirational words.

    It’s hard back, it’s free!

For extra hipster vibes from way back can also chuck in a vice magazine from the same era, full of photos of thoroughly dislikable people and some interesting articles.

    All free please.

  • I got the 42 x 12 book, and it's great. Terrific photos. I like to leaf through it every so often, and chuckle at the existential conundrums like "who is the fixie rider?".

Great as it is, it's not as good as "FIXED global fixed-gear bike culture" by Andrew Edwards and Max Leonard (which gives thanks to our own @Lewis_from_Lewes in the Acknowlegments section at the back).

I'd recommend both books to any fixie fan.

  • user maxl's other work is also worth your time - higher calling is my personal fave

@Dogtemple I'd love to take that off your hands if its still going, be a good one for the office :)

  • Sorry for the lateness of my reply. Yes you are welcome to it. Drop me a message I work from home/stuck at home almost always so can be available most of the time if you want to collect at some point

  • After some round bend bars in 44

  • What clamp size? I've got some bars (and other bits) I really should clear out, I think there's something that might match but I'll have to check the width.

  • 31.8 / 44c-c

I looked for your BB last night and couldn't find it! I'll check over the weekend for you

  • Would anyone like a couple bottle cages?

Got a white elite plastic cage and a plain aluminium one.

    Free to collector

  • Free turbo trainer, collect from central Worthing. Got a wheel block somewhere too
