  • Nice looking watch.

    Is it auto?

    What size?

  • Manual, not sure what you mean by size?

    Nice looking watch.

    Is it auto?

    What size?

  • Diameter incl/ excl lugs?
    Diameter with/ without crown?

Most people on here like around 40mm diameter for their dainty girl like wrists. (only aimed at those that mocked my choice, everyone else 40mm is lovely )

  • Or?

    HHNNNGGGGGGG

    That's lovely.

  • Most people on here like around 40mm diameter

    Speak for yourself, zero-taste-boy...

  • Just measured everything:

    Ø with crown 36mm
Ø without crown 34mm (is that the same measurement as Ø excl lugs?)
    Lug to lug 40mm
    Lug width 18mm

  • ZIM was famous for producing ammunition during WW2 for all sort of USSR army forces

No idea how old these watches are, but were probably produced somewhere between 1937 (when production of watches was established) and 1980s

Bought in 2011 in St Petersburg for 150RUB (3GBP)

    I really like that.

  • Just measured everything:

That would have been a big watch if it is WW2 old. Now it's just too small for everyone cos 42mm is dainty. The anal retent in me wants to ask how much it weighs. It isn't the diameter of modern watches I object to, but the height and weight. You can't forget you're wearing them.

@VU, drooling about the 50 Atmos.

  • That would have been a big watch if it is WW2 old.

    I talk bollox.

  • Sorry if I made it confusing, but I didn't claim these were military watches

ZIM is the name of the factory that manufactured these watches. ZIM was famous for producing all sorts of things in the Soviet days - mainly ammunition and radios during WW2, then watches and household machinery in more peaceful times

This is definitely civilian type watches

    Hope it helps

  • Doing it wrong...

  • You mean I should use doobie scales?:)

    Doing it wrong...

  • No, you should use Dammit's scales...

  • These watches came without original strap, so I thought it's better if I weight them the way they came to me

  • You mean I should use doobie scales?:)

It was either the doobie scales or the baking scales and I'm currently baking bread...

  • 42.3g with a strap based on mum's baking scales

  • I think you misunderstood me Horro. When I said doing it wrong I meant that I was doing it wrong by owning such a heavy watch.

  • Apparently I did:) I really liked heavy watches when I was in my teens. Now less is more for me

I think you misunderstood me Horro. When I said doing it wrong I meant that I was doing it wrong by owning such a heavy watch.

  • You own some of the heaviest I've seen. The armada is a monster!

  • Dan needs the abimos or what ever it's called.

  • The Armida A4 is the biggest.

Id weigh the sharkdiver but Jana is wearing it today and she is out.

  • Neither, ffs.

    You want one of these;

    The Kaventsmann Abyssos.

Case diameter, height and weight have become a little bit of an obsession recently, so its 50mm round, 26mm high, and weighs 290 grammes.

    290 grammes.

The Air King you are looking for will weigh 45 grammes.

No, I meant you should buy this light one...

  • Cant find one for sale...

  • U srs?

I really admire what he's doing, even if the result is a bit big for me. It is possible he could make you whatever you want.

  • Gah! Why did they leave us hanging?! Last posted Sept 2012! There should be further updates.
