I'm looking into an English WWI officers watch, recently reconditioned and cleaned, Brass, good condition original strap Roman numeral cream face at a shop here in NYC, there are a few options, some have brass gaurds/ covers, the one I'm into doesn't and the shop is talking around 1,000 USD, good deal?
no pics to show, and compared to the value of my Grandpas WWII war prize german officers watch, seems really low...
any of you guys got any knowledge?

and now I've fallen in love with this:
there's one on the bay at the moment, but it seems a bit expensive (bin 150 pounds)
what do you guys reckon I should offer? and do anyone know of an alternative to ebay to get this watch cheap - I don't mind a reasonable amount of wear... -

They are gorgeous, but they are over 6 grand. For a TAG. For 2 grand less you can get the real original Heuer.

Yes it was a good buy, their 'signature' watch was the second world war 'Big Crown' it had an oversize winder so that pilots in gloves would be able to unscrew them.

As it is, somone else is enjoying it...so there you go. -

Photos of that are terrible. I bet the case is all smashed up too.
-
• #823
i cant help thinking that if the case was damaged the seller would say so, given they havent it would be fair to assume the case is alright, no?
agreed though the pictures are all bad. -

...They've finally got Mondaines in at the John Lewis where I work, so I might treat myself to this one:
Which has a 42mm case diameter :) Though I feel one Mondaine may be enough already.
This just went on ebay for £1,200. Omega Seamaster 1976 Montreal Olympics Edition
