I’m interested in a 36mm Seamaster, but not keen on the £££ of servicing with Omega shit.
There’s two model that pique my interest, the Quartz (ref 2561.80.00) or the automatic (2551.80.00).
Which would be the better option? Quartz mean cheap to sort out, but then automatic is much nicer despite higher £££ to service (even thought the movement is similar to ETA)

Buy the auto. You will always regret it if you don't.
Difference in servicing is gonna be about £100 ish , but then factor in the cost of battery and reseal @ £80 ish every two years or so ........
Having said that I may have a quartz one coming in soon so if you choose that one give me a shout. -

Nice one, grats man.

I agree with ejay, auto is the way to go I reckon.

I appreciate that, so the difference is almost negligible, I didn’t want to get an expensive watch only for the service cost to be almost equally expensive (hence why I sold the BB58).
Just need to find a decent automatic that I can get on finance, thank!

What about this ?
I can do you a friend and family forum price and do finance as well.
And it’s new . I’ll be honest if I had to choose a preowned previous generation Seamaster 300 or this new I would be buying the Longines.

I’m afraid I’m quite partial for the Omega especially in the 36mm sizes, I’m in no rush to get one and just need advice on the quartz or auto option, i appreciate the very kind offer tho!

Very happy so far but it only arrived Wednesday then bracelet re-sized yesterday first day wearing today. Irl the dial is very white and matt which GS don't do much the lume is so strong you can still see a little glow in daylight and it's got more brushed surfaces than my others making it more suitable as a daily. It's really clean and simple but with enough details to make it a bit different I think. I've wanted one for ages and one came up from a UK seller so I jumped on it. Doing overtime right now to help pay for it though 🙄

Yeah that’s a banger, love the legibility. Reminds me of the early silver dial 1019’s.

I hadn't seen those older ones. This is half a milgauss rated so possibly not a coincidence?

Love the orange on this. Is the dial text also orange? Can’t tell if it’s red. How long do the batteries last? And does the clasp have tool less quick adjust?
Yeah I went for it. I've always liked them and they're not available in the UK anymore so JDM and US only now but I saw a nice UK one and broke my no watches on credit card policy 😬 I'm getting the bracelet re-sized so should be on for wrist shot Friday. Only arrived yesterday but the more I look at it the more I love it.
