Just because you need two watches to tell the time doesn't mean everyone else does old man.

afaik the thinking is that you should keep the movement ticking over for the following reasons:
- If the mainspring is left unwound for a long period of time, it may deform / lose tension (?) and so affect timing accuracy
- Lubricants in the movement may settle and so also have an affect on timing accuracy
Both sound plausible to me... Also I like winders.
Le hehe/jokesinnitbruv I have a 17 jewel Seiko from 1971 that has only ever been serviced once, is rarely used, and keeps excellent time. Just by way of example I also have a 1964 Omega Constellation (565) that keeps great time and is rarely worn. Winders are gimmicks to extract monies from the unwary.

This is exactly the kind of link aggregation of watch sales that is guaranteed to give people itchy fingers and light wallets. I hadn't seen it before yesterday, apols if repost, but there are shitloads of sales to browse:

Was posted in this thread http://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/coolest-chronographs-250768-39.html so might be worth looking through there
edit: this thread shows it a custom watch built by that guy, http://forums.watchuseek.com/f222/chronos-leather-got-any-663173-4.html

the best way to do this is to wind back and forth over the midnight position. the date will only count up.
Only works on some watches, some you just have to keep going round and round.

Worked on the Seiko, good tips dron.

Seiko automatics let you change day and date very easily, Ed... Pull out crown to the position before you can move the hands, then go clockwise for date and anti-clockwise for day...
Bugger, it's Multi, gonna have to wait a couple of weeks now.
