These are Ed White / pre-Professional style Speedies with a ceramic bezel and sapphire crystal but the defining feature is that they started remaking 321 calibres to put in them. They scanned one of the original flown 321s, I think it might actually have been Ed Whiteâs, to base it on, and they created a special department where each calibre gets built by one watchmaker from start to finish.
Not saying thatâs a good or bad thing, just to explain the price.

A customer of mine recommended Nash goldsmith's in Cardiff for watch servicing. They have a guy in once a week or so that knows his stuff by the looks of it. He did a very good job on my KS 4502-7001 despite there being issues along the way with it (ÂŁ90 for the service). This LM 5216-8030 is off to him next week. It's unusual in that the hand winding mechanism remains engaged when setting the date, causing drag on the crown and it has become hard to wind up. Hopefully a service will help loosen it. I'll miss it while it's gone, it's a pretty little thing.

Sacrilege to this thread, but does anyone have the Garmin instinct solar 2? I am thinking about it to replace a G shock and I love the idea of built in torch.

I also have questions. Is this thread about the look of the watch or the internal engineering?

No it is a thing of genius. Itâs just a bit âclinicalâ for me.
Like itâs trying too hard.
I would use that money towards a real one. -

That and everything thing else, we have been known to argue about the boxes the watch came in .

Funny coincidence - I've just been (very generously) given a gshock smart 5600 something as a surprise present for an achievement, it looks very cool but I can't stop looking at the Garmin instinct crossover solar, it looks like the watch Casio should have made.
So opinions on the two would be appreciated here too!

I have found myself looking at Omega Polaris Chrono's.
@ejay2.0 as our esteemed Omega expert, what is a fair price for one of these?(or anyone else, feel free to chime in)
Also, are they shite?
I could google, but thought I'd see what some cyclists have to say before I actually look for one. -

Which one? There are 3 different that I know of, not counting the multifunction digital one.
A quartz with 3 subdials, a quartz with 3 subdials and digital windows and an automatic with 3 subdials. The latter are very rare and usually ÂŁ6k ish. The others also donât pop up as often but last one I ( nearly bought ) was a standard quartz, was a minter and was a grand. -

Quartz, non digital, black dial.
Seen some battered ones on eBay for strong money and figured chancers.
Will keep an eye out but probably more than I should be spending these days.
If anyone wants to trade a two tone Longines Hyrdoconquest for one, let me know... -
