  • I'm not a fan of massive watches and like that that trend is over again, but.... This just looks too small imo

  • I like the look of those. I'm going try one as the 40 mm looked massive on me. In my head a 37 would be perfect but I won't write this off on width alone. I've been after a retro inspired integrated bracelet watch for a while. I almost bought a Maurice lacroix aikon 39mm last week then I'm looking at the 38mm Tudor royal date then I'm back to the B&M Riviera 39. I find these pangs escalate quickly. Anything else I should be looking at? I'm not a fan of the Yema micro rotor or the CW twelve

  • This just looks too small imo.

Seeing photographs of people with Sunil sizes watches in the past, that was considered “normal”.

I honestly welcome 35mm, it’s how it wear in that sizes without the lug causing the bracelet to overhang.

I think we’re a little conditioned to massive sizes watches nowadays.

  • I think that's a bit of an odd pic because the bracelet clearly isn't sized properly on that one.

In the other shots it looks pretty much fine to me, though as I said I think 37mm would be better for me personally.

But it is also very much personal preference. It seems a majority of men think 40mm is the right size for a watch, and that's fine. I love my 36mm OP - and for me it's the right size, I find the 40/41 far too big for a non-diver - but the first thing my Rolex-wearing colleague said to me was "why did you buy such a small watch?".

  • It’s visually pleasing to see the bracelet that otherwise not easy to see when it’s 40mm.

  • Speaking of smaller watches I'm down bad for the Breitling Chronomat 40mm. Love the bracelet especially.

  • It's the bracelet that makes 36mm Rolexes not look so small I think.

  • Another watch where the sweet spot is probably between two sizes. The 40 / 36 split is definitely intended to be "men's / women's" sizing whether they present them as unisex or not.

They actually do a 38mm Chronomat but it's covered in diamonds.

I do like that 40mm GMT though.

  • You're all mad

  • Pretty remarkable 2998 with a bezel that has faded to green: https://hairspring.com/finds/green-don-bezel-2998-3-omega-speedmaster/

  • Kind of tempted to try that PRX now that it's in my size. But the nivada F77 is also a vibe.

    That's lovely

    ... But $45k lovely

Damn, next time I'm out for a surf I am keeping my eyes on the ocean floor.

  • Not sure about that Nivada, as accurate a reproduction as it is. I like the hands and a few other details but the bezel is way too literal a RO homage. And the end links that try to make it look like an integrated bracelet are a bit of a fail.

  • Anyone ever come across the GW-M5610U-1CJF? It's a JDM version of the 5610U with a blue line and blue tint... halfway to a GW-5000 look, kinda. I'm undecided on it. Also wondering if the legibility suffers.

  • I get what you mean. I'm not particularly bothered by the homage aspect. I just prefer the dial on the Nivada. For some reason i find the dial on the PRX to look a bit cheap. I don't know if its the super thin indicies paired with the structured dial, or the type. At as whole and at a glance i like it but there's something off about it. Never been hugely impressed by Tissot.

  • I agree, I think I prefer the dial and hands on the Nivada. The PRX automatics have a pseudo-clous de Paris texture but instead of being machined it's stamped and comes out looking quite soft. I think that makes it look a bit cheap. The "1853" also does look a bit naff.

The PRX is a lot nicer than pretty much any other Tissot I've seen though.

  • The new Sideral would like a word. Super cool IMO.

  • Hear, hear.

  • I’ve seen one it’s quite grey and the screen wasn’t as sharp as og 5610

  • They do look interesting. Feel like it’s hard to grok how nice they are from online pics though.

  • Teddy, whose videos I am consistently impressed with, did a good video with Tissot to announce them along with the PRX: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yl_8ahF568o&t=55s

The original fiberglass cases are cooler, in an Eames kinda way, but the carbon cases are still cool.

  • New Citizen mechanical GMT. 41mm, circa £1500.

Feels like a slightly odd combo of the integrated bracelet checklist (angular case, textured dial) with old school Rolex cues.

  • I quite like that - integrated bracelet is nice.

    Is it a thickboi though?
