I'm a bit thrown by it not saying "automatic" on the dial. Did they make quartz ROs in that size?

£300
HOW MUCH?!?!

that is cool.

@Soul @Regal been looking at the BB54 and 39 pelagos. 3850 for the pelagos, regardless of if it is good value for money, is more than I was wanting to spend on my 1 nice watch now I’ve given my sister my 21st present.
Is it stupid to try get one second hand (for example one on eBay has an offer from the seller for around 3100 and was covered by eBay authenticity guarantee)? If I can buy from the right seller, I’d be keen to save 20% I think

I got mine from eBay, second hand but unworn with tags, stickers, bracelet unsized etc.
Check the condition carefully because the grade 2 titanium scratches very easily but if you’re cool with it then yeah, nothing wrong with second hand. Ebay with the authentication is probably as safe as any other online sale.

How scratched up is it now? Seems like the one downside to the watch.
Is eBay g’tee 100% safe? Would you still get it verified independently?

errrmm....

heh

It is, isn’t it?

Mine? Not very, actually, though I haven’t particularly put it through its paces despite wearing it nearly every day. It has some micro scratches on the bracelet but not much else. I’ve seen plenty of pictures of P39s that have been dailied for months and they do show it. It’s the nature of the watch tbh. It’s really quite subtle/casual as a sports watch, it doesn’t have a flashy/jewellery vibe.

Think so. Largest quartz ROs are 36mm. A) that looks bigger than 36? And B) I cannot find any photos of quartz references with the AP down there. Almost exclusively at or just beneath the 12 marker.
Think your colleague might have been telling some porkies, bobble.

One of a kind AP is a pretty special watch

well ill be damned... another one

The other good thing about titanium watches is that they self-heal* and you can remove minor scratches with an ink rubber**. I've got a titanium chonk watch and it's not noticeably more scratched than any other. I'm a scruff though, so i don't mind a bit of wabi, to me it's part of the charm.
From memory, there was a bit of a scare about Tudor refusing to polish Pelagoses (Pelagii ?) on service because of the Ti case. No idea if that's true, but you might want to check that out if scratches really bother you.
*sort of
**also sort of and very carefully -

Pelagoses
... Pelagooses...
... Pelageese...

Pelagii, shirley. It’s a Greek name.

Isn't the AP the Jumbo re-release, 15202ST?
The OG one has a white date and the re-release had a colour coded one. And I want to say the "AP" logo is bigger, but not sure.
It was always my dream watch especially as a 2 hander.
-
• #71444
bobble said it was 25 years old tho and the 15202ST says automatic
-
• #71445
I think that's what it's supposed to be, but I'm pretty sure it’s a copy/fake. There are multiple details that don’t add up. No automatic text on the dial. Applied AP logo looks wonky. Swiss Made text looks like the wrong font. Date window doesn’t line up with the tapisserie engraving on the dial the way it does on a 15202.

Pelagoises. Fight me!

First thing I thought with the AP ^ was - if it's 25 years old, where are the signs of wear?!
Even NOS have some scratches.
They are available everywhere now, in every authorised dealer, if you are happy paying the retail price. Windows are full of them.
