  • CVS basics have been good since the early 90s. No CVS in SE15, only Superdrug.

And really, that name is a lie in both respects.

  • I love mine and wear it way more than I thought I would

  • Nah, not in London. We’ve managed to assemble a group of 40ish dads in their 30s and 40s, which means at most 6 meet up every fortnight.

Edit: I would recommend actively pursuing similar thought, reverse the trend of men not having friends as they transition out of 20s.

  • It's time for a half of ' crossover obsidian '

  • Late entry, but happy weekend nevertheless!
I’ve been enjoying this, kind of like a Seiko SKX, but for a lot less money.

  • I kept looking at getting this, I love my eco drive version but it kinda lack that classic look.

  • Don’t hate me.
I really wanted to hate this but I caved and I love it. But just for what it is , it’s a ridiculous thing really, but hey I paid retail, and it’s only a third more expensive than the grey omega nato I’m gonna put it on.

  • Are they easier to get now? I gave up but would still like one (at retail price).

  • This one came in from the states , via someone I know who knew someone in the know.
I think it’s still ridiculously difficult.

  • Not wanting to encourage mass hype, I know someone who walked into one of the London stores and got the desired article the other day @ retail . I've gone a bit flaccid for them over the last year.

  • It's timing and the size of the city the stores are in. If you happen to be somewhere a bit off the beaten track they are easier to pick up. They are still very popular though so luck plays a part.

They are just a fun plastic watch though. Nothing to lose sleep over.

  • The covent garden store has a queue of 5 or 6 people every Monday morning before opening and rarely has a queue on other days so I'd assume they get a small delivery once a week.

I keep meaning to join the queue and see if I can get one but it's either never a good time with work or work is quiet but I don't have the money. Sigh. I'd still like one so will probably get one at some point - congrats on the score!

  • It's easier than it was for sure. But luck of the draw. I've bought two in the last few weeks from Battersea Power Station. They get a couple of deliveries a week in early afternoon. I work nearby so have tried my luck a few times.

  • they aren't that rare considering they apparently sold a million moonswatch last year.
Like it's been said , just a bit of fun.

  • There are some bits of this I really like - bracelet especially. But there are some very odd bits too

  • Could I please request the Regal Review of this?

    All other opinions also welcomed

  • "This one is in almost unmarked condition" is the usual watch dealer bullshit.

It's been polished, obviously, but not a crazy amount. It looks a bit softer around the crown guards than I'd like but overall it's not the worst.

Dial has almost certainly been replaced (it's a luminova dial, which is correct, but I think it's from a slightly later style of the 16710 - might be a service dial fitted by Rolex, there should be receipts confirming this if so). Very probably the hands and the bezel insert too (would be interesting to see if the papers confirm it was a BLRO - ie Pepsi - originally or not). But most of them are like that now (because conscientious owners have their watches serviced) and in this case I think the price reflects it. I wonder if the bezel insert has been fitted slightly askew. That can be fixed though. It's on the correct bracelet.

Would be interested to know service history, and if there are receipts for that. How is it running? How recently has it been serviced? No mention of that on the listing which is a bit of a red flag.

Overall, it's a nice looking watch and the price isn't ridiculous. But if it hasn't been serviced recently, or by Rolex, you probably need to factor a service in.

  • All good advice. ^ Also check if the IMS has been changed for the dual bearing one and get a rev range report.

  • Well worth the consultancy fee

  • Looks like a little mark to the case around the 11 marker.
    Dial looks wonky?
around the crown looks pretty polished quite a bit imo - could just be the lighting but above the bracelet looks q different to below.
Basically need to see in person

  • Thanks all. This dealer is the one I bought my Submariner from, which was genuinely as new (3 weeks old), but looks like this one is not very well described.
