Any interest on here at £550?
Only a few months old and comes with a milanese bracelet, box, papers and receipt. I fancy a Captain Cook and these are two similar to justify keeping both

They look to have done a nice job on this. Would have preferred the 38mm case personally (especially when the original was 36mm) but yeah, nice. 300 pieces, on sale at 5:00am (!) tomorrow, will likely sell out within minutes.

I looked and thought what the difference before noticing all of the smaller details, sizing isn’t too bad, 48mm lug to lug is just borderlining on the long side but wouldn’t have look that good with a shorter one.

I've tried the green and bronze captain cook on a couple of times in recent weeks and almost bought it but the over pole caught my eye now I'm having a little wobble. Any thoughts? Is it nice or a bit busy? The last time i bought a watch that i thought was cool and a bit different i got bored of it after a few months hence the sale attempt up thread. I think the
over pole might be another one of those. There seems to be no Rado love on here any reason for that? i can't find a bad review or comment online for either of these.

Some of the Rado stuff is alright, I don't mind them but I still tend to associate them with dressier gold tone or ceramic-cased stuff. I quite like those two you've posted.
There are people who are really big fans of Rado as a brand but I'm not sure there's anyone here who collects them.
This was an interesting article I read the other week about their history with ceramic materials - https://www.europastar.com/the-watch-files/swatch-group/1004093845-rado-getting-to-the-heart-of-the-matter.html

I always think of them making the ceramic stuff. And and have a bit of a soft spot for them.
Although their divers look nice, it seems a bit off-brand.

That Oris looks like it's still available. It looked like a bit of a crowd-pleaser to me. Maybe people have finally had enough of black dial fauxtina divers' watches.

^ that's the watch Darryl Hannah was wearing in Wall Street when Bud Fox dumped her

I had this lord matic arrive from singapore last week but think I want to move it on as it is just a bit too small for my wrist. it is 36mm, automatic, kanji date wheel, unpolished and keeping time very very well! if anyone is interested at £250posted ono do let me know.... it has a really nice (and seemingly rare) textured dial which is awesome. below are seller photos as I havent been able to get out and take any in the daylight.... but if you want some photos from me just let me know - could be a good christmas gift..

Or maybe everyone is buying the Hoodwinkee Zodiac Pan Am GMT - https://shop.hodinkee.com/products/zodiac-super-sea-wolf-gmt-panam-zo9412

Question for self.
Circular saw or watch?

Hard pass when the collective photography and chop skills of the Hoodwinkee team can't get a nice wrist shot.

Yeah, I'm not into it.

Looking forward to someone doing a Woolworths or Blockbusters limited edition, so I can complete my "dead brands we had nothing to do with" collection.

Yes! Had a service few months ago. Runs spot on.

The little “gutter” between the angled bezel and the crystal collects dust like no other! Very annoying.

Why do i like this so much? Totally missed that Nivada (Grenchen) had been resurrected.
They have some really cool reissues in reasonable sizes (38-39mm) plus a big
back catalog of some really funky models, and they seem quite open to recreating them.
Might give this Super Antarctic a try later. They will release a version without the fauxtina next year.

That was interesting i knew Rado made ceramic models but i just thought it was a material they chose to have a point of difference from the big brands at time. I didn't realise they were quite as pioneering. The ceramic bezels on the models i tried do look and feel really nice and they're concaved with domed sapphire and with the gradient sunburst dials i think it makes them look quite deep and interesting despite being quite thin for a dive watch. 80h power reserve on them too. A couple of shops are offering decent discounts on selected captain cooks including those two at the moment. I'm really tempted even though it looks like the Squale is staying.
Plz! I'll take it off your hands!
