I really dig that, you should keep it, it weirdly felt very vintages.
Almost remind me of the Mido Decompression with such a busy dials.
Like other said, doesn’t look like a typical S5.

At least the postage is reasonable 😂

I actually kinda like that green Carrera.
They shouldn’t have kept the short index at 6 when they deleted the date though.

Looks great. Double fuck

Even more new Seiko 5s… looks like they developed the transparent dials for the Kawamura LEs and figured they could do some more…

Someone will buy that... Its not unreasonable...
Fuck the scalpers though

The bezels on the new Pelagos is way way better than the original, I always find the original to be weirdly slim;

The Black Bays have really slim bezels as well. It always looked to me like they were trying to compensate for the case thickness (BB GMT vs Rolex for comparison)

Really interesting angle. What’s driving the thicker case on the Tudor - just a less sophisticated / miniaturised movement? Or is it a style choice?
-
• #66788
Some of their movements are very thick - a full couple of mm thicker than the ETA equivalents. But they also leaned into that slab sided case design.

Definitely.
I think it's an aesthetic choice born out of necessity.
I also wonder if their marketing shows their customers want visibly chunky masculine watches.

And the correct colour! Great watch.

I see the 39mm is only 200m certified.
I can't see if they have dropped the helium escape therefore?
-
• #66794
I dithered over the LHD or blue, but it was no contest really.
-

The FXD was 200 and no escape valve, I assume it is the same on the Pelagos 39
No need for it
Edit: 300m+ has a "need" for it, according to Wikipedia

"only 200m"

IKR!
I'd be scared to take it out in the rain -

Anything >200m is literally only for saturation diving. As is the HEV.
Unless you're Seiko and you use a monobloc case and just seal the thing so well the helium can't penetrate the gaskets. 😎
Pelagos 39 does not have a HEV.

Wasn't the original ploprof over engineered for that reason?
Rolex (or Doxa, perhaps) developed an escape valve so Omega went for a decent chunk of metal and stopped the helium getting in.

They have. For a slimmer case. And 200m is more than ample and who ever uses a helium escape value? One of the more useless complications. I've only ever met one true saturation diver in my life. I'd be surprised if he gives a shit about tudor.
If they do the mini-pelagos in blue, I call forum dibs.
