Isn’t CW a micro brand tho?
-

The branding doesn't win me over. I preferred the name rather than the symbol.

Not sure it is anymore. I thought they tried to “move up” a bit…

I do like that model, get what you’re saying, that placement is way better than 9 o’clock.

I quite like their C65 Aquitaine

It looks like one of those WW2 marine mines.
Filet braze comment was spot on , that soft merging of the metals is a winning look -

That is really nice , at first glance I thought it was a Farer .

So my stepdad is very into watches and I got the bug from him although never had a budget to get much beyond a vicarious interest. My dad had a very cool Seamaster that I remember since I was wee and I was gutted when he told me one day he had sold it (I rather hoped it would eventually come my way but rarely see my dad so never spoke about it).
Anyway, the 007 Seamaster is a damn fine watch IMO, regardless of it probably being overpriced for being non-limited. As ever, budget kept it in the dream category for me. So guess what my stepdad did, legend that he is?

No, he didn't buy me the Seamaster – obviously I'd be a bit nervous wearing 10k on my wrist so he sorted me out with what he affectionately called "the poor man's Seamaster": an Undone (Seiko movement) 42mm with a milanese strap.
I really like it. Comfy, cool and keeps time very well (unlike my grandpa's much-loved mechanical Eterna).

Has anyone bought anything off ebay with the authenticity guarantee? you only get the equivalent from Chrono 24 if you buy from a dealer.
Might try and get a BB58 blue next year. Wonder how much this might go forIn my looking, I saw someone relume one and bleach the bezel and I think that looks amazing. Stupid thing to do?
Finally, anything to be put off buying a tudor 2nd hand? Save a bit of money, RRP has gone way up recently, warranty is transferrable. Cheers

Hot Rats! One of my favourite Zappa records.
Grats on the watch.
Straw poll of people wearing their watches above/below the wrist bone? Changing to
belowabove was a bit of a revelation for me. -

Buy what you like, I say.
If buying second hand, buy the seller, not the watch. A modern Tudor under warranty shouldn't give you issues as long - as it's legit.

below is away or towards the hand?

Loins definitely does. I personally hate it. But my wrists are so skinny that it’s far comfier to wear it above my wrist bone.

I’ve sold using the guarantee. I had to send it to a huge watchmaking business in Ohio. I’m not sure how they can reliably authenticate the number of watches going through there… but like Regal says, buy the seller.

Nice, I've got one of those book marked as a potential every day wearer. They seem decent for the money.

Yes, didn't like the 9 o'clock text at all. I'd say Christopher Ward don't fall under microbrand. They've got a wider range of models and a heftier advertising budget, although I guess they do only sell direct rather than through retailers.
This one has now been rebranded with the logo rather than the text (probably why I got mine for half price in the sale).

Straw poll
Deffo above the wrist bone, you deviant! Unless you like a loose strap or the crown digging in the back of your hand…?
-
• #65796
below the wrist bone
I believe that area is called "The Hand"

I've not been clear here, have I. I realise I don't know which way round above/below is.
Let's say hand side and elbow side. I meant I prefer elbow side (as pictured). That's above, isn't it? Ok. Hand side (below) gave me terrible crown-digging-in problems with one watch in particular until I was educated and realised the error of my ways.

This is akin to "sitting/standing".

Way more comfortable above the bone in my opinion.

You can find 2nd hand BB58 blue for about £2200 in great condition. I would personally avoid eBay authentication process. Heard stories about watches arriving with loose casebacks etc. and also if you’re buying a watch that’s water resistant to 200m or more, I believe that after the authentication a) the warranty for that is void and b) wouldn’t have the confidence to wear it in water as the authentication might have fu*ked up the gasket or whatever.
Edit: and with the modding - do whatever you want/like.
Some fantastic Seiko love these last few weeks, I enjoy it
Will resurrect my Lordmatic for Friday.
