I’m thinking of changing things up with a plain/non-textured yellow rubber strap. Not totally convinced it will work though so thinking low cost, at least initially. After 20mm and needs to be plain (although perforated could work).
Any suggestions?

It’s more orange I would say.
The whole range does seem rather OP “inspired”. Not surprising tho.

Went and checked out the Phillips exhibition of early Lange 1 and Datograph watches today with @inchpincher. Strongly recommend if you can get down there in the next few days, really interesting and some serious pieces on display. If you do, try and get one of the curators to talk you through everything, we lucked out and basically got the guided tour. Learned a ton.

Disclaimer - that is one I tried on last year, but didn't buy! I don't have that type of money to spend on a watch. Probably would if I did.

They’re selling for over twice list price right now so I think if anyone can, they should. But apart from that, I think it just works so well. Best of the current colours by a mile for me.

Yeah, perfect colour and texture.

Having been up close and personal with millions of pounds worth of wrist bling I would pick a Lange & Söhn over all the other haute horology brands.
The level of finishing is exquisite and for me the dial designs are way better the competition.I don’t do the lottery and a premium bond win wouldn’t leave enough for golf club tread bumping. :-(

(I don't)

Yeah, they're the real deal. PP and VC been resting on their laurels forever.

I think a lot of this stuff isn't so much "I must have a dress watch for the charity dinner" as just a tradition of fine watchmaking that goes further and further into making things insanely detailed, complicated and refined. Most of them aren’t really dress watches. A lot of the more complicated ones are practically unwearable except as a conversation piece with your other hyper wealthy mates over a cigar and a scotch.
Making the best tool watch is a whole other thing.
Damn, I really want a Lange 1.

My local T.H. Baker is closing down and offering decent discounts on what must be their less popular models. Worth a look incase there's something you've been eyeing up already. Hefty discounts on the Montblanc, Bremont and Longines especially
Thanks for posting this, it's just caused me to part with a lot of cash.

I just love how they are constantly pushing the envelope of watchmaking. The triple split chronograph is just insane. And beautiful.
I would never buy it though.

They had this for sale, just a top tier banger.
Could never realistically wear it, nor would I want to, but what an amazing piece.

Re yellow rubber strap, this https://www.horusstraps.com/products/omega-speedmaster-strap-yellow-rubber?variant=31554950824014 is tidy but a bit pricey to ‘just see’ - any alternatives?

I’m wearing this zuludiver-branded Bonetto Cinturini repro of the classic Seiko divers strap and I really like it - comes in yellow:

You can also get the classic Tropic repros in yellow now. But those are textured obviously. And also the ISOfranes come in yellow.
