From what I’ve read, Omega take a dim view of Omega-certified watchmakers even doing a caseback swap with a genuine and compatible Omega part if it’s not the originally specced part. Seems a bit much but, yeah. Don’t think I’m bothered enough to go to all the hassle and expense.

What the case size? Look similar.

It happens. Inadequate lube is the problem. If you have a rep you want to keep it's best to budget for a service. Typically the movement gets quieter and more accurate and goes on forever. And if you sell it on a rep forum the value goes up.

The prestige comes with the marketing

It's not broken. It just needs a service. £300 to buy the watch, £150 for the service, then the watch probably outlasts me.

seriously if you are this cynical about the luxury Swiss watch industry then just don't buy one , but don't appear to condone it by wearing a moody fake.

The confluence of @bens0n‘s post and a mental health course which implored us not to use our phones as alarms has resulted in an impromptu new clock day.
