Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra available on Chrono24 second hand for well under £2k.

Or automatic movement GS.

What are the criteria? Steel bracelet I assume? New or second hand also? Any particular movement type? The GS is on a completely different level of quality to the others, I would go for that if you’re happy with quartz (and their quartz is some of the best quartz there is).
If mechanical, I reckon you could get a BR V2-92 for not much more than two grand. I would definitely take that over a Tag or a Rado.

Thanks both great shout. Really in to those Aqua Terras especially the white one 👍

Quartz AT is a decent shout. The 38/39mm early coaxial ones are fab though. Before they put the ridges on the dial. Had my eye on one for ages, they used to be two grand and are more like three now.

New or second hand
No movement preference
Plain Bezel
Steel bracelet
Up to 42mm wide but not too tall
Not an investment but ideally something that should retain at least 50% in years to come if well looked after
Quality over current brand popularity trends
A real keeper that won't look like a Fisher price toy in 20 years time like my Red Tag f1 chrono -

If we are stretching the brief….. s/h Tudor BB58? Circa £2100
From the list above, I’d go Seiko GS

The guy in the shop recommended i think a 58 with Black face and Burgundy bezel i was into it but it was £3k and i think longterm I'll prefer going for something really understated. GS and the Seamaster AT are the current front runners

Whats your opinion about these? I liked them but read in many reviews that the build quality is not that great...
-
• #61236
Any idea on size? You can get a big surprise if you think you can pull off a 45mm...

Have you thought of Oris heritage diver?

39-42mm I've got skinny wrists and i must wear a shirt when i go watch shopping. I've got larger watches that i think work ok wearing a t-shirt but annoy me and just don't work with a shirt. I'd like to be able to wear this anywhere.

I like the design, especially the GMT. And the quality, from trying a couple on, felt good for the price to me. The hands are nicely done, for example, and the bracelets seem as good or better than anything else at the price. Haven’t heard any negative reports on quality of the movement but they’re ETA/Sellita, aren’t they? Not likely to be problematic.
They’re just a touch large for my tastes these days, and the 22mm lug width accentuates that.

I'm a fan of their GMTs too.

Thats nice but i think I'm going to go with a plain bezel I'd forgotten about Oris. Great to get these recommendations on here to go back shopping with a solid shortlist. I had half an idea earlier but felt right under pressure in the shop.

Yep think I’d probably agree - I do like the finishing of the Sinn. Of course I’d actually for a bit more get an OP. And then for a bit more still an Explorer. Easy to see how these things go!
Older generation aqua terra is pretty close as wel
