As presents go, that's rad. All I got were some (admittedly rather good) socks.

Whooah, we need more photos of that, surely?

That's lovely! Really big fan of a JLC
Definitely don't have enough jlc love around these parts.

Worth checking but most repairs seem to be a movement swap with an onhand refurbished unit if that bothers you

Thanks @Grumpy_Git. Only correspondence so far has been over email based on my written description of the faults. Once they receive and physically assess the watch they will contact me regarding detail & payment so will ask then on what exactly they intend to do. As long as it comes back working & as accurate as before I'll be happy...

Not many Friday watches here. I need a new strap for this, fancy a thick leather one.

All my other watches are hidden in boxes due to water leaks making a total mess of the house.

Not a Friday watch post. I received two of my deceased father’s watches from my mother this week. I don’t think they are anything ‘special’ but, obviously, they are special to me.
Any ideas what to do with them? Should I get the Omega serviced/refurbed is probably the big question or, alternatively, leave as is and get it running?

Hitched a ride in a hearse?
How else does one travel from Canada??
My mother's bouquet on the table... Nice backdrop for a utility watch.

i would certainly consider that omega as "special". i love the vintage sub-second dial examples. i would personally get the plexi swapped out as it is very scratched but some people would rather keep it "original"..

Have you looked at the one that watch was sold on originally ?
When I had mine like that it was on the distressed leather with the Tudor deployant.
Thats a rare watch , wasn't made for long. -
