Specific grid ref is TQ193731 if that’s any use

A genuine limited edition! Like it. Wish that the seconds hand was black instead of red though so the dial could do all the talking.

Once a red hand always a red hand.

No date too. Nice.

Yeah. I know part of the brand DNA, it just looks quite a similar shade to the sub dial, think black would be a good contrast. Very nice still.

Cheers to you both!

Went to have a look quickly before work, didn't have the Opaline or the BB58 Taupe as already allocated.
Looks really good. I've got slim wrists and I actually thought it wore smaller than the dimensions suggest. My daily is a 40mm Seiko though.

Hodinkee seemed to think it was a big thing though? Like 50mm L2L

Is it an angle of the picture thing, or does the second hand not sit on 12?

Looks ace. Wrist shot would be good 😬

On a practical level I would find screw down chronograph pushers annoying.

Yeah, sorry. Don't usually do photos and they were nice to squeeze me in as didn't have an appointment, then had to nip off to work.

Didn't notice it in store.

• #54091
Simply leave them unscrewed. 🙃

Looks like good old parallax error (ie, it's the angle of the photo). Most chronographs suffer from that to some extent because the chrono seconds hand is on top and furthest from the dial. Some will curve the hand down towards the dial to try and mitigate that a bit.

Might be due to me trying on the regular Black Bay 41mm and then this being a Chrono, I didn't feel it was too much. Its still gonna have a lot more presence and height than other brands but in Tudor terms it didn't seem so large.

It hasn’t looked oversized in any of the pics I’ve seen, especially for an automatic chronograph with date and 200m WR. I saw Hoodwinkee claim a 49.9mm lug to lug but they didn’t specify whether that was the “proper” L2L measurement from spring bar to spring bar or what a lot of people do, which is measure the whole case from the very tips of the lugs. I suspect the latter.
I think it looks pretty good from the side. The lugs don’t look long to me at all.

I honestly think they will fly.
-
• #54096
Yeah, I think they will. The hands and the dial & bezel typography aren’t for me but that’s personal taste, and me being a fussy little nerd about what letters and numbers look like.

I'm really into my type too, probably no where near your level of expertise. Do you do type design, or graphics?

On a side not when I asked about the Taupe, the manager said that he couldn't show it to me but the case almost glows. Some reckon it has some platinum in the mix? Not his words.

I graduated in graphic design, and my final project was mostly type design. After graduating I worked in print/editorial design and branding (I’ve done a fair bit of logotype and symbol design over the years) and did a bit of teaching but I fully made the jump over to digital design and UX around 2008 and nowadays I work in digital product design, mostly young tech businesses / startups.

Will be interesting to see. Sounds like something that would have suited a dressier watch to me, but it seems fun so why not.
Anybody wants this lovely little (just about 30mm diameter) thing for free/postage? It was my first auto which I got from this very thread. I loved it very much and worn it all the time including on bike tours etc and it’s been keeping somewhat erratic time ever after :/
So if someone fancies a restoration project let me know. Collection from North London or I can stick it in an envelope no problem.
