Never thought about the speedy subdials.

I get is hrs, mins, secs.

What happens after 30mins?

Finally - Ressence chat.. I’ve been meaning to mention these on here but could never remember the name. I love them (the original versions) .. quite spenny if I remember well.

The hour counter at the bottom will be halfway between 0 and 1. So you add the 30 minute counter to the hour counter (kinda, if you’re at 55 minutes the hour counter will nearly be at 1) and then read the seconds from the big hand (the seconds subdial on the left is the running seconds, not the chronograph seconds).

Haha. If the chrono has been running for 55 minutes, the minute counter dial will read 25 minutes (ie, 30 + 25) and the hour counter will be nearly at 1.

Wow. That's not what I was expecting!

(So basically the minute dial does a split on the hour depending on past or to.)

It’s why e.g. Seiko chronos often have dual labels on the 30 minute counter, because it could be 0-30 or 30-60 depending on how many times it’s gone round.

I guess it must be difficult to make a true 60 minute subdial?

Kinda asking for it tho. (The entire watch world that is)

You could easily do it, it would just be really hard to read at that size.

I am an unashamed fair weather ocean person. I save my 3/4/5 for Egypt, otherwise I aim for a long rash vest only, shorty at a stretch.

90% of my surfing is in the UK so a 2mm shorty feels like naked bliss to me.
