Any recommendations for a 20mm soft rubber strap?
I like wearing the Zulu waffle strap but the holes are widely spaced and it's either a bit too tight or a bit too loose...I'm looking for that Goldilocks fit.

The Barton silicone straps are thin and soft and very comfortable. Recommended!

Is that £15 for the Barton silicon strap? That’s a great price. If you need another suggestion, Watchgecko are usually a pretty good bet for rubber straps. There’s almost always a discount code floating round for 10% off as well.

Question for the team - on @JB’s suggestion been looking at Reddit for buying a watch from the US. Am I right in thinking it’s basically an additional 20% VAT fee and fairly nominal courier handling fee to pay on the sales price to import the thing over?

It appears that duty is £0.20 per watch, so I'd not be hugely concerned about that.

Barton ship from the US so I think you have to add quite a bit of shipping and probably VAT / import charges on arrival. Probably best to do a bulk order if you can. Not sure if there is a UK distro.

They are really good straps those, I have one on my Squale at the moment.

Thanks @Dammit - v helpful, that formula looks good to me. Not sure about the relevant duty (think it may be a low %age rather than fixed sum) but it’s looking like the VAT even on price alone is enough to make it cheaper to buy in uk.

No duty on watches from what I remember

Ebay is now autotomatically adding the VAT onto all international purchases too, including Europe :(

@Regal pointed out to me how much cheaper Seiko/Grand Seiko retail for in the US and with the strongish pound at the moment I’m half tempted to swallow the VAT on something I can’t find here.
