  • So, you basically have to wind it every day. Longer power reserve is handy, especially on a manual wind.

  • Yeah, it's a bit of a faff, but as a hacking no-date movement at least it's quick to re-set.

  • New daily watch

Daily watches should have a date windows imo

    Lovely Hamilton btw!

  • I’d be up for a watch that was mostly date display when I’m at work.
Out and about the time is more relevant but who’s doing that any more?

  • Time will tell :-)

As long as it'll tell the time ... ;)

  • My Seiko has a date, none of the other watches do.

  • Initially I really liked it, then I cooled a little, now I really like it again. I struggled a little with the aged lume thing, but now I don’t worry about it. It’s a really nice movement, in a handsome watch that has a great story. It’s also widely available for much less than I paid for it, which enhances the value proposition.

  • Get a Railmaster 1957 reissue .
Must be a few left around.
The only modern omega I have ever bought.

  • Thanks @Dammit. @Jeromeo I like this one but i would prefer it if it had some polished surfaces..

  • The 1957 / trilogy Railmaster that @Jeromeo is talking about has a mix of brushing and polishing. I like it a lot, the brown lume isn't for me but it's a very nice watch.

Otherwise as I think you mention the Aqua Terra has a PCL bracelet, diamond polished hands etc.

  • I bought the watch on a bracelet but wear it on this strap all the time.

  • I like the aqua terra a lot.. but it screams i'm 40 years old.. which i will be soon :)

  • I think that too. However, I usually need the time only as I know what date it is. To me, daily watch needs to bring a smile when I look at it and this Hamilton will hopefully do it. Also, I wanted something that it’s slim and can get knocked around a bit. The date versions of this watch don’t do it for me at all.
My GS 9F quartz is the perfect daily watch, but I’d ruin it within a month at work.

  • I was in love with this once. Great watches.

  • Probably because we’re currently in the shorter day period of the year!

That’s fair, hope it works for you. And if not, please note my interest in having it off you 😉

  • We’re currently in the one time of the year where day/date becomes almost essential...

  • Embrace it...

  • SMELL MY CHEESE!

  • A lot of people do not like the shiny bracelets and have the centre links polished to same as the rest of the bracelet. I had a seamaster 300 that had this done before I bought it, but I let that go to get the Railmaster . I have smallish wrists and the 57 is a perfect for .

  • I have a few of the quick fit straps, comfiest is rubber, that I also use (d) to swim in.

  • @ejay2.0 any news on the new speedmaster front?

  • @panic What about Globemaster? They look amazing in person.

  • I dont know about the globemaster. I need a watch that i will keep forever. One that wont "grow old". From the omega lineup these seem to be the speedmaster and the aqua terra
