Long time lurker, haven't posted much for years, hi all!
What would be the go-to for about £750ish? The government here in Japan has just given everyone 100,000 yen stimulus payments and I'm tempted to add to the collection. There are a bunch of speedmaster reduced models on the second hand market here in Tokyo but I hear the movements can be a bit of a pain?
I came across these - https://www.wmtwatches.com/ - and they seem like a fairly run of the mill submariner homage type set up, miyota movements, anyone know of them or something similar? Cheers! -

You mean 9F85? Yes, it’s a quartz movement.
@Pifko with the mechanical watches, I don’t think the temperature fluctuations would impact the accuracy that much (maybe a couple of seconds here and there but nothing what the movements don’t do anyway). If you were to change the temperature by 30-40C few times a day, then that’s a different story. -

I have a Laco Altenberg and don't wear it every day, I'm a bit rough with watches the B-Uhr crystal always looks too delicate and unprotected to risk.

It’s a price point with a lot of choice. Research for a while, find out what you want/see as many watches as possible and then weed out the ones you like less...
Good luck! -

My choice for a £750 watch would be either:
Casio G-Shock Rangeman
Ocean7 LM7 PloProf homage
Alsta Nautoscaph (which is the watch Richard Dreyfus wore in Jaws)
or double down and get:
Helson SharkDiver
and a Seiko Turtleas its "free" money i would probably go for the one i was least likely to actually spend my money on (PloProf on this list)

Due to current circumstances I'm looking to offload stuff that I've been hoarding. Got this Seiko Divers watch I was going to stick on eBay but I thought I'd check here first to see if anyone is interested?

Kinda love how this still has the caseback sticker.

Alasta is definitely on top, as well as the absurdity PloProf homage (Ocean7 or Helson).

For £750 I'd be looking at Christopher Ward, the C65 Trident Automatic, C65 Dartmouth Series 1, or C60 Trident Pro 600

Some great suggestions, thanks! I am tempted by something a little different I wouldn't usually buy, the Helson is pretty mental and would be quite a statement!

Sold my Alkin One to buy this.
Alkin was just too big and bloody heavy.
-

I'll have one Journe and a white gold gmt with meteorite dial please
-
• #45122
Yeah. That’s nice. How’s the thickness relative to the diameter?
-
• #45123
About 15mm give or take inc the NATO.
Would have liked an orange second hand to break up the green but
I like it way more than the Alkin. -
• #45124
You're the second person I have seen describe the Alkin 1 as big and heavy, still cant get my head around this!

I just got my Alkin Model 1 out to weigh and measure. It has the same lug to lug as a Smiths Everest and it weighs 77g!
Edit: Its thinner than the Everest too.
Have you considered the Alkin Model 1 or 2? Less money for an equivalent watch imo.
