Hello chaps.
My grandfathers cheap Seiko has finally bitten the dust, so I'm looking for a new daily watch. I saw some of these altered/fake Rolexs and was really taken with the matte black finish along with the relatively uncluttered face.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend something similar outside of the multiple grands price range?

They do round fliegers.
That's the one I had. 47mm, Tit-an-yum, lovely. Didn't wear it enough so sold it a month ago.

Cheers Zed, that's bang on.
I'm still undecided between something large and imposing like that and something much more refined like a Junghans Max Bill. I've got rather slim wrists, so the super macho watches look like handcuffs rather than a watch.

They're pretty nice actually, even though I generally dislike petrol-head gear.

That is nice, and really good value too.
I too have lusted after those black rolexes, but not the price tag. And I have never liked the date bubble. This Steinhart solves both those problems. -

I hate the date bubble too.
I'm not 100% convinced by the DLC coating or whatever it is...

diamond-like carbon I believe.
more durable PVD basically. Not supposed to scratch off. -

That Steinhart is an incredible watch at an incredible price. The 2824/2 movement it uses is universally praised for accuracy and low-maintenance, and that they provide the specific one in a body that looks that good is quite something for the price point.
Sorely tempted. Cannot consider it though.

you're welcome.
I like the one with the stamp on it. -
• #4521
ha! so do i, that ain't going now where.......other guys charge about 150 + quid IF it has the stamp on it, the pouches themselves go for about 50 at the mo.

Liking it, the photo made it look good, but I don't think the gold look that nice...

Fountain of all knowledge!
From that, I've found this, which I think looks nice, and would be possibly good with a brown leather strap:
Any chance you could tell us what model that is?
Watch lust! Really liking the subtle bezel.
