I thought of another one.
The fact that all of my picks are gold Rolexes is not lost on me.
I really want to see some live pics of the new full-yellow-gold Day-Date 36 with the standard champagne dial. This piece on the previous 36 & 40 is one of my favourite Hoodwinkee articles:

Unbelievable. Some people.
I think the most luxuriously over-specced thing I own other than watches, is a set of watchmaking screwdrivers. Set of nine cost £210.

In all seriousness, I think that Patek I posted was way too sensible to be my grail watch.
If money and availability was no barrier, there is only one choice.
This one is for sale for £230k. I would wear it all day every day.

Probably this, I'm a man of simple tastes and platinum satisfies that, the diamond version is gauche:
or a much more affordable Peacock

I think that's the point. Rolex would love to sell more gold watches - the margins are surely much higher if you look at the raw material prices vs the RRPs. On the Datejust they will charge you an extra £1000 just to add the fluted gold bezel. The Yacht-Master (the 40mm rose gold one, and this one) is one of the few cases where they've successfully made a gold watch that people actually want, instead of being forced to buy one to get access to a steel Daytona (which is what my colleague did).

My old boss bought a white gold Daytona because he couldn't buy a steel one.

I would daily wear this

The white gold one on Oysterflex is one of the few Daytonas that I like.
Would much rather wear that Yacht-Master 42 though.

Wouldn't mind a honeycomb 6350 either if I really had to choose.

You guys are way too sensible.

I'd get an UR-1001, for ludicrous watches.

Fair point. I had forgotten about them and this.

Another I just remembered… some of the Richard Mille Bonbon pieces are amazing. I think they have the required level of DNGAF.
Best thing is that 99.9% of people would see it as a plastic fashion watch, perhaps a child's watch.

Now we're talking.
Three ripsnorters.

We need that solid gold G-shock in here.
There are loads of nutty special G-Shocks, aren't there. These are great:
DLC-d titanium, one on the left has a laser etched camo pattern. Peak G-Shock IMO.
There's a Tron-esque version as well:

Ah, here's the solid gold one.
$70k. If that's not a guilty pleasure I don't know what is.

The camo LCD is a nice touch.
Richard Mille Confectionary does indeed look better on a 6 year old.

Wait until you see some of their bicycles. You could buy a car for what they spend on them!
