This is going to be a thing is it?
-
• #43004
I decided against it for the time being.
Spending the money in a big folder to keep posters in instead. Also potentially have a small inheritance coming soon and may buy a real one. (I'll give you a knock if i do)

Junghans crystals have a coating on them so you can't polish them. I scuffed mine, a replacement was £50 from Alsal. I then dropped it a week later and cracked it, they replaced it for £30 that time because I think they felt sorry for me.

I think these are my favorite bezels.

No joy, but it was worth a try!
-
• #43008
Great! where you happy with the result? did they use an official part?
-
• #43009
Yep it's as new. Proper Junghans crystal, I think there was a cheaper alternative but o wanted it as new.

Alsal are an approved Junghans service centre and use original parts. They've fully serviced a couple of my Junghans and conducted a few repairs and their work has been perfect every time.
As @umop3pisdn says, polywatch and other polishing compounds don't work on the Junghans acrylic as it has a really tough chemical hardening treatment.

Just musing about my decision to have a sapphire crystal fitted to my rose gold Meister Chrono. I think I regret it. The stock acrylic looks a fair bit nicer from an angle .

They’ll probably double in price.
New monetary system to be based on toilet roll and GMT barter

• #43017
sssshhhh don't give them ideas. hahah

I still reckon it's a ludicrous premium for a strap with an Omega logo, but that's very nice indeed...
-
• #43019
Thanks, it is nice. Strap was £130, buckle £200.
In related news, what's a cheap but not shit winder for four watches?
-
• #43021
a really tough chemical hardening treatment
Not that tough by the sound of it.
-
• #43022
Honestly my favourite.
-
• #43023
Are you sure you want a winder? Given the Speedmaster is manual and the Sub and the Railmaster don’t have a date, is it worth it?

Looks awesome. The Tintin is such a peach, you've shown it well here. Should be a decent appreciation trajectory on these? If we're still here that is.

Thanks- it’s a really handsome watch so it’s easy to take nice photographs of it.
They are coming up in value, but I’ve worn mine a lot, it has marks on it and scratches that I’ve largely polished out of the crystal- I suspect the ones that are worth decent money never left their box.
Mmmmm
