  • It might just be my next grail watch.

  • I wore my digi-tuna yesterday and it was only 7 seconds out. I last set it 17 months ago!

Having a bit of a digital revival at the moment!

  • “... spriiing driiiive”

  • Ok it's no Richard Mille.

    But I wouldn't say it's pretty either.

You may have a point in the sense that anything with that amount of complications will be vulgar.

Not a fan of neoclassical. Which doesn't help. :oP

  • Here you go.

  • Ahh nice. You've arrived too late or I'd have snapped it.

  • Took the Seamaster into the watchmaker yesterday, on the timegrapher it was saying +8 seconds both dial up and down, with a small amount of error. He’ll have a look at it this week and decide if it’s in dire need of a full service or if adjustment alone is enough. I’m happier getting it fully serviced and seeing how close +/- he can get it.

In the mean time, had no interest in selling this yet, probably because it’s not a known brand and especially because I’d like a fair price for it. So I popped it on a perlon and been enjoying it all day.

  • Edit: Nevermind..

  • Good job. That’s rather nice. Enjoy

  • Pretty sure ‘great condition’ is as subjective ‘good time’, what with it missing the lume in the hands and half the lume markers on the indices, and no actual mention of roughly how many seconds +/- each day. The slipped jaxa scratches are relatively big for ‘very small’, too. All in all it’s a very nice Omega, I quite like the look of it, but yea, maybe I’m more conservative with how I’d rate a watch.

  • I guess it's all relative. Was just basing it on my previous 60 y-o watches that all have been in quite a sorry, patinated state compared to this. But sure, it's not immaculate/mint. Selling it elsewhere so nevermind..

  • For sure. Most sellers inflate their condition statements, but anything missing lume with gashes from a slipped jaxa is ‘good’ at best. I always err on the side of caution to avoid reprisal.

Even so, this my Omega monocoque (on its way to servicing yesterday) I feel is in good aged condition, with fair condition hands. Yet, the watchmaker shot me down hard as I handed it to him, stating the dial looked very aged and then laughing at the caseback scratches that looked like someone didn’t know it was a front-loader.

Indeed compared to his minty moonwatch he had on the bench and practically chucked in my direction, this is a beater.

  • After a walk around Chester the Tudors are still about 4K. Rolex above 10K

  • don't use your phone while driving

  • A little tempted by a gold ‘el luminous’

  • Chatting to @Regal about the Timex triathlons we had as kids in the 80’s and nostalgia had me pull the trigger (£16) on this which I’ll give to my son as a beater. So many happy memories tied up with this exact model, jumpers for goal posts etc
