Thanks for the advice. I've been the Omega store here in Singapore today and a moon watch was $7150 which works out as being £4200. I've found them advertised in the UK for £3,300 so prices seem even more inflated over here. I think it maybe best to get one in the UK and then pick it up when I'm next over or get my parents to bring it on their next visit. If I can get one at that kind of price, I'll buy a new one.

Duty Free in the UK always have them.
If buying Used they’re significantly cheaper in the US, unsure what Canadian import taxes are like though from the US? -

What's the deal with buying duty free though. On this trip, when we've bought anything tax free so far, they've stamped our passport and put a tax receipt in it. Therefore, when we go through security back at Toronto, presumably, if we're over the tax free threshold (a watch would be anyway) then surely they are going to want their 13%?!

I mean yeah, technically.
When my fiancé purchased her Oyster Perpetual at Heathrow, she saved the whole VAT cost. If you buy in an airport, they don’t charge you the VAT in the first place, so whether or not you pay tax at the point of entry, depends on whether or not you declare it.....

Similarly, when I purchased some clothes in London the last time I was home, I was given tax free paperwork. But due to everyone taking a fee, the £60 I saved turned into £36, which I had to claim back at my point of exit, Heathrow. So buying in the airport is where you will save the most.

They had this model 50% off in Liberty last time they did a sale. I was tempted. The shade is slightly different on the dial in person. In-store only though but maybe try in Jan??

I think that’s where it was acquired - he’s looking to sell it on.

That looks like the only Rolex I’d ever consider to own.

Oh, ha, my mistake!

That shit just doesn't happen.

Any G-shock experts on here?
I’m clearly not.
Ordered a light grey strap and bezel on eBay, waited 2wks for delivery from Tel Aviv only to discover the bezel for a series 5600 doesn’t quite fit my 5610.....
If I can confirm it shouldn’t fit and I am in fact stupid I’ll order the same strap and bezel from the same seller but this time specify 5610 which annoyingly is also available.

Yes, the DW-5600 is slightly larger than the GW-5610.

I'll have a look when flying back through HK on Wednesday. I won't hold my breath though. Think I'll end up buying in Toronto or just buy in the UK and get my parents to bring over when they visit.

Hey thanks for that, in a way I’d rather be proven stupid than have been sold something less than kosher from somewhere far away....
Anybody interested in buying, listed for DW-5600M-8, light grey matt colour.
£30 posted 1st class.Can categorically state it WONT fit a GW-M5610BC......

The date on my citizen eco drive no longer advances. The internet says to read the manual to reset it but I cant find anything specific about reseting. I've set the date at a time in the range that should be fine.

In the hope that other G Shock gurus are out there - ages ago whilst i was lurking, i picked up a DW-5600BB as a result of someone on this forum posting pics on it (so I'm holding you lot responsible). It's great, but the strap could stand a little pizzazz. In the meantime, I've been lusting over the distressed metal look of the GMW-B5000V but I can't justify buying a new watch for it. Anyone know if there's a way i can kill 2 birds with one stone and recreate that look with my 5600 ?

Pull the crown out for 30 secs doesn't work?
-
• #38421
What's the model number?
-
• #38422
I've not tried that. All the way out?
If I pull the crown all the way out and advance the time 24 hours, it should tick over, yes?
It's a E168 movement. Model number is BN0118-04E

yep, total horseshit. This is a bad cover story for what is likely to be a parts watch. As they say, there's a patsy in every game, and if you don't know who it is.... it's you!

Yeah, but Patsy got a boob job.

GMW-B5000V
The GMW-B5000V-1 is at the top of the price spectrum for the collection at $1,000
I've been watching it for a while as well... So annoying
