What time is it? Watches and horology

I really like that watch. The countdown bezel had me doing a double take for a moment.

I have been asked why the bezel is on backwards......

Interestingly these come with a count up or down bezel, there seems to be little reasoning for it between the individual watches, in true Smiths fashion.

This one got a countdown bezel and a hacking movement, probably by complete chance

Re bracelet links, yep one Seiko and an Omega. Bought Mrs IP the goth version of my Pepsi but I don’t see her taking off the bloody Garmin. Plus on closer inspection today I don’t think I can actually remove anymore links, there needs to be at least one each end for the clasp spring bars to attach.
Then I had a squizz at the Omega and it transpires the 1098 bracelet links have some bizarre mini spring bar affair that I lost patience with, 0 wins today.

I appreciate that it isn't a great branding effort but it does make sense.

Competitive Apnea is the official term for freediving and there are several sub disciplines in free diving with the word apnea in the title. The watch times 14 minute intervals in tribute to the then static apnea world record record of 14 minutes.

Technically I think its more like Rolex Yachmaster than Daydreamer.
