The blue and black versions are something like a tenner more.
Happen to have a link? The amount of Seiko options is overwhelming.

Yeah, it’s a bit much isn’t it.

Someone “leaked” the homepage for the Willard reissue:

Nice movement, shame it’s uglier than a regular SRP777.

Wow, that copy is terrible... Did they hire a non-English speaker to write it?
-
• #33883
I think it might be draft still, like I said I think it leaked a bit early. The actual product page is not up yet.
-
• #33884
That makes sense, reads like a bootleg site or something...
-
• #33885
Yep, it’s been pulled. I think it was just a bad/rough draft translation from the Japanese site, which was also up and has also been pulled.
Here's a grab of the original vs new comparison. Looks pretty good until you realise the crown isn't exactly at 4 like the original, it's lower, and the shape of the case is therefore also different.
Four grand apparently…

Had a mooch around town today, walked into Watches Of Switzerland and they had a large Grand Seiko exhibition in the foyer. Wonders will never cease.

Yeah, the brand new WoS in SoHo in NY have as well. Apparently it’s only temporary.

Would you like a price hike with your marketing push, sir?
-
• #33890
Yes. That is banging.

Grail day. Thank you very much tax return. Came with unused bracelet but probably going to put it on leather until the summer. Unbelievably happy. SBGR053, the old dial version of the SBGR253, which in my opinion is way more balanced. Got rid of the few vintage Seiko's I've purchased in the last month so the outlay wasn't too bad.

So good. Definitely a bit too smart for nylon. Great watch. Congrats!
-
• #33896
That's actually really nice, other than the strap. Buy a nicer strap.
-
• #33897
Thaaaanks. And yeah, obv. I got a Worn and Wound strap the other day for another watch and it was $95 and very underwhelming, so I certainly won't be doing that again. Will probably start off with something cheaper...

• #33898
How come? Just normal, but expensive? Or was something up?
Hursh are always a safe bet for leather ime.
Idk if they do them without buckles - but you should keep an eye out for a GS buckle anyway.
-
• #33899
Just nothing special. Made by hand in New York which unfortunately is all I seemed to have paid for. Leather isn't how it really looks in the photos. Buckle is crap, like really crap.
I may do the total opposite of what I said and see if the Seiko shop have any GS straps on buckles that I can buy.

Really solid movement as well, it’s the same as in the Turtle (apart from the day/date). Hacks & hand winds. Display caseback too!
The blue and black versions are something like a tenner more.
It’s a bit on the large side but I like it, it’s good fun.
