Is this for the explorer? I'm under the impression that rolex sports models in boutiques are basically pot luck now.

Picked this copy Chopard Mille Miglia Alfa Romeo up in a charity shop. Didn't like it much. Bought it. Love it. Hey ho.

I'm really confused as to what watches rolex still actually sell.
The Internet seems to be continously full of accounts of popular watches you can't get hold of anymore.
Is it just brexit stockpiling?

I'm not fully clued up but it does appear that some of the supposedly rare models make it onto the grey market at a markup fairly regularly.

The limited editions makes sense, and I half understand the daytona. But an explorer or a sub?

Or a steel pepsi GMT. Baffling.

Be aware of additional fees, probably about 25% on top of the winning bid.

what watch strap can i get that won't stink after wearing all the time for a month?
I only have one watch, i put it on in the morning, cycle to work, take it off before bed. -

Probably a small melange of natos, to wash one while wearing another.

Agreed. There’s a different lot I’m gonna view later in the week if I can be bothered. Probably avoid the watches altogether though.

NATOs and rotate them when being washed.
Or buy moar watches.
Edit: beaten to it

Bracelet or rubber.

thanks all watch is a vintage gold type affair, so i don't think a rubber one will work, equally I don't really want a gold bracelet so i guess Nato it is!
is there a recommended source online? -
• #29694
Get a ten-quid rubber Casio for cycling and keep the nice one in your desk drawer?
-
• #29695
Not sure a nato would suit it either tbh, I have a little leather pouch that I used to put my watch in for my commute. Depending how vintage it’s maybe not a great idea to be getting it too sweaty.

Perlon may be a bit more stink resistant. Although I'd buy a couple so you can wash them every so often.

I guess it's just a marketing strategy.
I remember a club in Nottingham I went to a couple of times for student nights when a mate was there. You had to get there early as the queue quickly stretched all the way down the street. Inside it would be empty.

Well its only a 70's Bravington automatic that i picked up for literally peanuts, so I'm not that fussed about it. but equally i'm not going to buy another watch until this one breaks, so if the best way to get use out of it is to put an ugly strap on it then I will. tbh its just a tool for me.
Maybe I should be in the functional watch thread! -

Saw these posted on social media, thought they looked alright as a smarter than rubber but still with the anti-sweat properties of it option (almost looks like leather):

If its joburg I remember it being more tourist stuff than retail.
Altho that was a long time ago now.
Fuck I'm getting old.
