  • This is stunning. I've been wanting one of these, either the triple colour dial or black faced version for the last few years.

Can't afford one just yet. One day. I'm currently enjoying smaller brands to have a bit of variety for the money.

I've got a bronze Helson Shark Diver 42 which I love but it is a lump.

I end up wearing my Autodromo Group B most of the time. It's so comfortable and light and super easy to switch out the straps for a but of variety. Worn and wound did a limited edition version on a leather strap but they don't sell it separately. Would be good to be able to dress it up a bit instead of just having the nylon.

  • it wears quite good for my small wrist. the dial i'm fine with at 42mm. i'd prefer the lugs a couple of mm shorter. they are 50mm. at 47 it would be a perfect fit. it wears larger than the speedy. i expected that as it is actually larger. the dial on the speedy is 40mm. it measures 42 including the crown guards.

edit: a shot from a distance zoomed in to better show the size

  • go for it.. sell everything. plus some overdraft, thats what i did :)

  • I thought these watches had something in the design to stop them becoming magnetised. The iphone app reckons it is magnetised. How would it have happened - I haven't been through an airport scanner or something I think would magnetise it...

  • Honestly nothing to stress over. It happens. It has been happening for as long as wrist watches were a thing. And that was before mobile phones, headphones, car stereos and the countless other things that can magnetise your watch.

Buy a degausser and fix it yourself.

  • On the bus and the sun has come out. Quite gutted.

  • Csb below:

I wear a pair of Balenciaga sunglasses that my mum bought new in 1982. They’re older than me at 36 years old. My mum retired them from use about the time I turned 18 and I quite liked them so I started wearing them. That would have been 2003, I don’t wear them all the time as I have a few pairs but I wear them a lot.

I have some other stupidly expensive fashion wear that my dad doesn’t wear any more, that he bought in the 80s Givenchy, Valentino etc. Some stuff does last, but you have to take care of it.

  • It's my fifth wedding anniversary this year so spare money is going to go on a big holiday as we didn't really have a honeymoon when we got married.

    Maybe next year

  • Went to an antiques centre (in Battlesbridge) and picked this up for £20.
Not sure if it's a complete dud yet, but am thinking of replacing the movement but keeping the visible stuff

  • I have a degausser which you are welcome to borrow.

If it’s not that, then it’ll most likely be a hairspring “sticking” issue which can be as simple as oil having spread onto it and causes the coils to occasionally stick together as it “breathes”.

  • Does this dude know you are posting his photo?

  • Nope. Obscured face, no legal, bro. Cartier though.

  • Guessing not, but anyone interested in this before I put it on eBay? Have realised that as much as I like it, it doesn't fit my lifestyle and it's not getting worn at all. 1952 Omega 2650-5SC. Missing hour marker at 4 but other than that it's in a nice, unpolished condition and is keeping time well.

  • Probably out of my current price range, but what dollarydoo?

  • So annoyed... Missed out on a Pepsi Steinhart Diver on ebay.

  • Re the Roma pepsi I posted previously.
    It seems fucked.
It's not an auto (no rotor inside) and I thinks it's been overwound as you cannot turn the crown to wind it.

If you give it a little shake it will tick for a couple of seconds then stop.

Also the crown doesn't sit flush (not sure if this is due to a too long stem or because it's knacked)

Going to take the back of and see what's going on ( don't know what I'm doing so may well premakill it)

  • So I have this Omega Geneve, it's a bit of a frankenwatch: non original crown, no second hand. I like it but it recently stopped working. If anyone could weigh in with some guidance as to what the best course of action might be that would be sweet.

The chronology of failure is as follows:

    1. When setting the time there is a clicking sound and a bit of resistance running up to each "click", not consistently smooth when turned.

    then

    1. Turning the crown to change the time only sometimes are the hands engaging and moving forward i.e 2 out of 3 turns of the crown are doing nothing.

    then

    1. The crown no longer engages anything in the movement, spinning freely at winding, time and date complication stage.

I didn't pay very much (€200) for the watch and whilst I like it I don't have any real attachment to it. It would fit into a rotation but still not really positioned to spend a lot of money on a repair. Would this be a pricey fix? Whack it on the bay for parts?

  • And discuss.......

  • Darth Maul in watch form, is it free with a Happy Meal?

  • If it were sub£200 it would be a great fun fashion watch or a cool first half decent watch for a young teenager.

I predict the primary market is wealthy Chinese students and the type of people who que for trainers.

  • It’s ceramic.

  • You’re not wrong though.
