I suspect that you have been quite lucky not to fry the movement. Thanks, that’s actually pretty helpful. Time to get mine buzzing again!
I’ve got the itch. Can’t stop thinking about buying a new watch. Can’t really afford it, don’t know what I want...but have nearly impulse bought several times this week already.

Selling me your Eterna 1948 for £100 will offset the guilt. Been watching ebay since you posted that and feck all’s come up.

This one?
Whilst I love the quality, I can't stand the brown. The only watch in my collection that I don't wear.

I think I paid £400 for it which I'm told is a bit of a bargain. Would let it go for that...
Edit: Wow, they sell for £1500 new.

eBay. The smaller size does come up, but it’s more expensive. I’d say prices range from about £120-£250. There is a ‘Japanese spec’ which also has ‘21 jewels’ on the dial, which seems to command a slight premium.

Well scratching that itch doesn't have to be Zenith, Ulysses Nardin or Le Coultre. I picked up this fun NOS thing on ebay for £30 including post from Athens. Serviced as well. He's got two left... I think my greatest regret was selling my Venus Cal Navitimer for flumptence when I was broke.

I had a beautiful el Primero. Went for £950 on ebay, be worth a complete wad now.

Have you seen the Zero G from Zenith?

Fuck a duck. Now, that is really something.
I hate skeletons normally but holy smokes.

I know, I think it is more the complication that the actual look that really makes me want.
But I am never going to have a £75,000 watch budget. -

Did not remember it having a brown dial, even had to check your original posts, totally missed that, will pass, sorry!

Did I say how much I paid in my original post?

Trying not to purchase. What does it look like on-wrist? Preferably with a dog in the background. Will accept cat if no dogs available.

best £300 I’ve ever spent...
From watching ebay you got a ridiculous bargain though.

Only just discovered tracking a second time zone using a dive bezel. Genuinely quite useful.

Very smart. Good weight too with a 'robust wind*'. I'm getting a dark blue plain silicone strap for another tenner elsewhere. Superkewl retro styley but genuine watch for under 40 sheets.
*whatever that means but you get the idea...

Nice. Half tempted by the Ilona/Sicura frankenwatch but day/date window...
-
• #26798
Yeah, really liked that too!

The Omega Geneve tender to be the lower emnd of what they sold, but still very high quality. May have alos appeared with "Semaster" on the dial. Probably Cal 601 if manual-wind or Cal 552 if automatic.

Thanks Roddy. Still need to meet. I'll get back to you. Cheers Mel
http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/sbc_accucell1.htm popped this in last night as it was a bit "gainy" finally had the cajones to pop the cover and it had a 394 in it which was 1.5v wheras it should be 1.35v to be correct. SBC were an excellent company to deal with, and quick. I had to give the watch the "flick" to get the tuning fork going again, but I'll swear it actually sounds better with the correct battery.
