Any suggestions for thick, brown leather straps? Preferably tapered (22mm at lug to 2omm at buckle). I'm struggling to find much, and what I'm finding often is a bit too red or thin, I'm thinking more distressed leather kind of style.

Definitely a wind-up one way or another, but mostly it was left to languish with the battery operated machines.

Why would the Timefactors Smiths Everest that someone linked to earlier sell on eBay for a good chunk more than new? They're still available as far as I can see.

Different watches. That one predates Timefactors buying the Smiths brand, being made in 1957.

Still waiting on the reissue of this from CWC. Got an email yesterday about the RN divers being back in stock, but holding out for the reissue

I bet these will be very expensive since the originals are now very, very pricey.

I doubt they will put that much of a premium on the standard diver. Maybe 15-20%.

I'd much rather bang one of those CWC divers than one of those Frankenstein Tudor things...

I do really like the Junghans white face telemeter but this was 1/10 of the price and offers urge satiety although I've got to stop dipping into my 'proper watch' fund or I'll never buy my first grail.
Re the Smiths Everest, it is now showing as sold out but I'm sure it wasn't during the auction as I checked. And it's not like he won't ship abroad... weird. I won't be selling mine though, all this talk made me put mine on the bracelet that I'd never got round to adjusting, it's reassuringly heavy.
