Oh, not unrelated, but what are the opinions of Deep Blue? Is it another Invicta?
Gumtree-er wants £350, for that I'd sooner buy a turtle or monster, but had me looking at the offerings on the auction site.

My guess is semaphore signals for the numerals... Hence "Japan" and "white dot on blue" get repeated a few times as 1 and 2.

Just found this in a box of shit from childhood... it had the most amazing denim strap with sheriff stars bolted into it, but I hated the shit kid sports strap when that one got worn out. Kinda wish I'd kept both.
Popped a new 377 in and it still works even after small battery corrosion inside. Very childhood.

That's basically what the Baltic Bicompax is.

Good job on your watch, quite a busy look but I like the dial.

Thanks. It has way too much going on, but at least I can see the time now.
New strap, crystal, hands, and bezel painted... all I need now is an automatic movement, new dial, and new case.

Been looking at this as a birthday present to myself:
This German dealer came recommended.
I'm told Orient are part of Seiko?
Anybody got any comments/feedback on Orient please.

^
I had one once and could not put up with the stupid pusher button.
They also lack "heft" and the quality feel of a proper Seiko diver (screw down crown types). -

You got it.

£200 in TK Maxx, but they had a Filson (Shinola) watch. I think it was a Mackinaw. 200m, nice compressor style back.
Had a canvas-y strap and massive dial. Was totally not what I went in looking for (compression/triathlon shorts).
Felt nice and hefty, didn't expect it to feel like a good quality watch but it did. Resisted though, £200 seemed a bit too dear for something that ticks zero boxes on the dive-watch desiring.
Looks like this ebay.

Oh I thought it would be automatic, that's interesting
Hint #2: water
Bonus hint: used by, but not of countries (this is what I had to get my head round)
