Unless you really want the exact strap it comes with I'd always opt for bracelet. It's easy to get a good looking after-market leather strap but not a bracelet.

too big, plus i know you have one.

That only makes it more desirable, surely.

only if there's evidence that you have owned the specific example in the past, sir.

IWC Pilot IW395001
The more I look at it the more I like it.
But not as much as my watch.

Such bezel, very info. Nomos Zurich wore it better.

DA36 for me but I'd get the metal bracelet to get more options from it

When I was considering what pilot watch to get, Damasko was like every other German watch company. Personally out of those I contacted, they actually responded more timely.

Pilot watch as in?
I settled on a Steinhart Nav B Uhr as it was a traditional pilots watch.
Its one of my happiest purchases. -

I picked up @Dammit's Ocean Vintage and Ocean Vintage GMT yesterday. I'm really impressed with Steinhart. Solid additions to the collection.

Saw a Royal Oak Offshore on the wrist over the weekend. Not actually as vulgar as I predicted. I've changed.

Sorry I was so anti-social!

No problem mate. I'm working across time zones at the moment too. When you have a call, you have a call.
Speaking of cross time zone working, I love how utterly pointless a GMT function is on a watch. Was there ever a time when it was useful?

I had it set to show UK 24 hour time when I was in the Most Soviet State of Trumpistan, useful to be able to see at a glance when it was still ok to call the Mrs etc.
-
• #21268
Thats the most likely use for me too.
I've always hankered after one of the Vintage GMTs but I must say it looks even better in the flesh.

I mean when to call my Mrs, not your Mrs.

I bought the Vintage Military first, shortened the bracelet to fit, then decided to put it on the NATO. When I got the GMT I took that bracelet off, still in the plastic, and fitted the already shortened one, so the loose bracelet has never been worn.
-
• #21271
I think I'll keep it on the NATO for a while. Having said that, Jana has claimed it for herself. Not sure I'll be getting it off her wrist any time soon.

9/10 would lol again.

thanks again all for feedback. I'm not a fan of the larger (read Stein/Alpina) pilots so I think Sinn is probably the goer for me. But now I am conflicted over buying a watch, or a Kawai ES8 #foreverindecisive
