Best response evar.
Any watch that is in the big birthday range, will be substantially more expensive as sellers know that watches are desirable at that birthday.

To be fair, Vince does sell champagne so its more relevant than usual

Airkings are pretty small watches. Especially ones from the 80s.
Having said that, buy your bro an airking 5700. They look the bollocks and are also increasing in value as Rolex stopped making Air Kings with date windows a while back...a good one is a collectors item.
I've got a 1988, I reckon you'll be able to find a 1987.

Watch finder has a Year filter on their website. See what's about from 87 and if you like any.
Then run back here and seek further approval. -

Ideally one from 1987 so it is as old as he is.
I think it has been discussed before, but proper birthdate watches are a bit of a lost search as it's often hard to pinpoint manufacture. With that in mind I'd include a year or two either side in your search and not get two hung up on the exact year.
(you don't have to tell him anyways)

Thankfully anything that I'd want from my birth year looks basically the same as what I currently have, with an extra dial (because that's precisely what I'm missing with mine...)
No tachymeter though, which is a plus.

I'm new to this thread and I have a Rolex Datejust with an acrylic crystal.
It's started to fracture along its edge.
Anyone know of a reputable, reliable place in london to get it replaced that don't overcharge unlike Mappin & Webb (I've had some awful experiences with them). -
