  • The red ones are, doesn't stop them popping up on sites/in books all the time...

  • £1,500 for this one

  • Another one? Lol! You can't stop yourself!

    That's fork tho!

  • I'm thinking of buying a nice watch. I've got my eye on an omega speedmaster moonwatch. can anyone suggest any alternatives to this? I was thinking of the one with the moon phase. is it worth the extra cash over the one without that comes in a box with two extra straps etc? any advice would be great
    thanks

  • Anyone want to buy an SKX007 body only for £100? Has some sweet blade hands on it.

  • If it was me, and who knows it may be some day, I'd have the standard, unadorned, hand-wound, perspex-crystal original - the one that went to the moon, and is still rated for space flight by NASA.

Omega are horribly guilty of making ugly Speedmaster spinoffs to cash in on the heritage of the moonwatch. That moon-phase isn't the worst, but why not have the genuine piece of history?

  • This.

I have a manual wind speedmaster professional.

    Love it.

  • I agree with the hand wind side of things, but I hate plexi crystals. For me anyway, if I were to buy a Speedie it would have to be the sapphire sandwich so you get to look at this;

  • I agree about the sapphire mainly because of the transparent caseback which the moonphase has. I'm confused about hand wound comments though as the moon phase is also hand wound?

  • I have long term fantasies about a MkII speedmaster.
Wasn't a fan until recently but now I love them. I like the recent 2014 flavour the most. Might be a 40th birthday gift to myself.

  • No it has to be plexiglass " original " speedmaster if any at all . No sapphire , no auto just plain moon watch . Best watch in world. Or above it . I love mine.
Having said that my 1971 mark 2 is lovely as well .

  • Having said 'keep it standard', as far as Speedies go, I have to admit I might be tempted by a Tintin. But at least the only variance is the dial, otherwise it's identical to a vanilla moonwatch.

  • Moon watch or nothing. The variations are all gash. Proper gash.

  • I dunno, I have a soft spot for Tin Tin...

Altho it would prob piss me off after a while, the OG is a bit dull?

  • Burn the heretic !

  • This is where it's at:

This one even has a funny word on the back:

  • Like it just needs a bit of contrast...maybe not the Scots Guard trim doe. :oB

  • Hoping Tag Heuer issue a 50th anniversary version of the Camaro in a couple of years.
(don't think I've mentioned the Camaro in a few pages...)

  • love the date at 4!

  • Hmm, I really like that Speedmaster Tintin, there don't appear to be any for sale though (anywhere I know to look, anyway).

  • Hah! Serves me right for searching "Speedmaster Tintin" on that site, and giving up when I got no hits.

  • It does really. :)

To be fair though; ref 311.30.42.30.01.004 doesn't have the same ring to it...!
