Anyone clocked these yet? Schaumburg watches.
That meteorite dial with the monster moon - lycanthropes need not apply.

The Omega Seamaster Apnea times 7 minutes in one minute intervals which is roughly how long Jacques Mayol used to hold his breath while free diving.

Anyone interested in that Braun from a couple of pages back?
Couple of things:
1) I can't seem to get on with the composite strap thing - I knew there was a reason why I don't any watches with rubber straps...
2) It's a bit hefty for my lithe wrists.

They're big, 43mm I think. I was tempted until I saw that.

Good size imo. I am a fan of Dieter I suppose.
I just can't get Home Economics out of my head tho.

Can anyone recommend a watchmaker around W1? I want to get the 24 hour hand on my Steinhart GMT sorted out, it's driving me nuts.
-
• #18586
Complications ay? What is wrong with it?
-
• #18587
It's just slightly out of phase - the 24hr hand is 15 minutes slow when compared to the hour hand, which sets my teeth on edge.
-
• #18588
Apparently a common issue with these - Steinhart appear to have been a bit QC free when it came to mounting the hands.

The other day at a flea Mkt a woman I know asked me if I knew anything about jewellery. I said "a bit , why?"
"I have a watch that was my uncles and wondered what it was worth"
So she pulls out of her handbag a silver plastic carrier bag , delves in and pulls out what I guessed would be a no name , barely working dog with fleas.
So my eyes aren't as good as they were but I'm straining and looking/assessing as I go. So the case is gold 18ct ..... That's good I'm thinking. round face with second sub dial at six oclock ... Classic non offensive layout with mass appeal I'm thinking. I can barely make out the name but I can see from the layout of the writing it must be ..... Long word , small word, two or three letters then long word underneathe -

Nah love, thats what we call an Argos watch in the trade. Tell you what, let me do you a favour and take it off your hands. I'd normally pay £25 but I'll give you £50 because I like your face.

adjusted a few bracelets in store and seen a couple with issues. Not bad . less common than traditional brands . same sort of money as Longines. Buy a Longines instead .

No takers on the Braun then?
I'll dangle it in the direction of my philistine brother...

I've got an older Trident Pro, with the round markers.
It's a very beautiful watch, movement is totally solid, and I love love love the second hand. I had problems with the lume dot on the bezel coming off but Christopher Ward replaced it twice free of charge, even though I wasn't the original owner - really excellent customer service.
It's my daily wear and it looks as good on a metal bracelet as it does on a leather strap or nato. I love mine.
It's for timing sailboat races. 15 minute intervals.
